Can someone please give me an idea of what I can expect to pay to have my windows tinted. I was considering doing just the front driver and passenger at 20% but my permit will allow me to have up to 15% tint which would mean that I probably would have to do front and rear (4 windows). I Would like to go with a premium (ceramic?) tint.

Cost depends on the the type of tint. Dyed / metallized / Ceramic.
I had front doors tinted for $200. Ceramic top tier (Llumar Formula 1 Stratos)
Longetivity depends on a lot of factors. Window Prep / installation technique and skill / Film quality / Daily abuse etc.
I tinted to reduce glare /UV and IR
Below breaks down actual film performance. Follow this link and click performance specs: https://northamerica.llumar.com/aut...c-window-tint/formulaone-pinnacle-window-tint

Max tint ceramic on all windows, including clear ceramic on the windshield, was $470 at a place that I got a quote from in Ft Worth a few months ago.

Just do the fronts at 20% to match the rest. Paying another $150+ to get the rest matched and go 5% darker makes no sense. I have 20% all around and it’s still hard to see my surroundings on a cloudy night.

Had the girlfriends Camry ceremic tinted with lifetime warranty 4 months ago. 4 door windows, rear window and a brow across the windshield came to $202 with tax included. I inquired about my truck, which was new then, and it would have been $70 more because it already had factory tint on it that would have to be removed first.

You may want to find a new tint shop. They don’t know what they’re talking about. Factory tint is simply tinted glass. Unlike aftermarket tint which is a film that is applied to the inside of the window, factory tint is a pigment inside of the glass. This tint cannot be removed or directly altered.

Same, about $100. Fronts are technically slightly darker than back but match when viewing from the outside because of the large amount of light that enters the windshield.

Meh, I was unaware of this. The Camry was getting tint so I was in it and asked about going darker on my truck. They asked if it was already tinted and I replied that it was, and that is when the extra charge was discussed.

I used to do window tinting while in L.I ,NY. An average price here ran in the realms of $60-$80 for the fronts. Full size SUV running about $200-$250. Average car $150-$175. And about $25 to add a strip(brow) to the windshield. Most of my experience is with dyed films from Sydlan and MaxPro films, never had the need to do ceramic films. Hope this helps.
Now as a transplant to E. Tennessee, I will do my best to continue helping out with some window tint. I've been looking to add ceramic film to my stock in the near future. Shoot me a PM and I'll get back with you!

5% all around. Had to sign a wavier...all good. I think it was like $500 or so, but I also had the interior of the front windshield done at 50% ceramic with a 5% top stripe.
