So did some research since I had seen a thread on DIY wireless charging in center console in the past and there were a few peeps who asked this same question to which I have not seen a definite answer to. Will the lid on the 3rd gen fit on 2 gen? If not, what would be the easiest/best way to go about it if at all possible?

I was told that it will work however all of the 3rd gen lids I have seen for sale are around $450+. Not worth it for me.

It's fairly easy to recover your existing console lid. I bought a real black leather replacement and upgraded the padding underneath it while I was at it. It looks and feels much better now. I'd be willing to recover people's console cover for $150. I'll use my mine as a ready swap. So, anyone interested would have to send me theirs in exchange.

No it will not fit. There is a thread on it somewhere.

It bolts on, the front latch is the problem. The lid and the box are different.
