Thank you! You guys were a big help. Death Valley was a positive success for us. We went from Ballarat to Barker Ranch in dark.
Met a guy at Ballarat who was home on leave in his built up XJ and asked if they been up that way. He hadn't but wanted to get to stripped Butte. So we made a friend and rolled out.
We would have done the trail on our own. We managed to avoid body damage (by about an inch or so). Mengel pass was tight for the drivers side bed of the truck.
Had to choose between hitting the door or hitting bumper, 100% chose the bumper.
    Beautiful weather and beautiful views.
Just got home after picking up our new 35s on 17s to top off the trip!!!!(so cheap I almost feel guilty)

Nice! Glad you made it back safely. Looks like there wasn’t any snow neither. Must’ve been freezing at night though. Did you use GAIA?

We did use Gaia. It got down to 29 or so. It was the wind that was the worst. We did have rain the first day

Nice trip!!!! I might be doing that kind of same trip this weekend. Wanted to get my lift before I went but time is running out this week.

Also nice score on the tires and wheels. As that the Offer Up deal I saw last week?

When we were meeting the SGU guys at Mengel, we didn’t know if they were in front of us or behind us. So we drove to the top of that hill and started picking up their radio conversations. @osidepunker was talking about eating black eggs for about 5 minutes. Doesn’t look too bad in this pic but that hill was pretty steep.

Warning-- unsanctioned post (item not yet off truck, because I don't have anywhere to store it):

FREE BEDLINER IN VERY GOOD CONDITION-- **1st GEN**
    IMG_6186.jpg

Off AC, not a looong bed.

If no one that reads this thread wants this soon, we'll pull it off, post a sanctioned thread here and a curb alert on Craigslist, then give it to whomever shows up first.

So if you want it, and want time to arrange pick-up, let me know. We'll have the bed out and ready when you pick up.

Edit: bedliner only. I plan to keep the panel that's on the inside of the tailgate.
