So, random question; I used to have a 91 4runner with a unique problem that nobody could figure out. I no longer have it, so this is purely curiosity. It would always start right up, no matter how cold, on the first try. HOWEVER, and this is the unique problem. If I didn’t let it warm up to operating temp, it would stall when I put it in gear, then be next to impossible to start again. Thoughts? Any insight is appreciated. Thanks

Fuel injected, I believe. 95% sure, but would not bet my Sig Sauer on it. Thanks for responding.

My guess would be the old style fuel pumps and lines. The cold bits might allow for vapor lock conditions before everything gets up to operating temp. It sounds similar to a carbed engine getting flooded though.
