Hmm. I didn’t catch that when I pulled the foam out. Is it supposed to be on 2 ohm I’m assuming? And if it’s on 4 what would be the result?

James set them all to 2 ohm when he put them in. Shouldn't have to worry about switching them unless you install and amp that requires 4ohm

I think you're ok. I flipped it and and it wasn't super easy to move. You'd have to try to flip the switch.

Put mine in but it sounds like it’s farting. There doesn’t seem to be any damage on the cone. All my connections are good. I soldered and extension wire. I removed the foam that was inside.

Do any of you guys sub sounds like it’s farting? Sounds like a blown sub.

Did you pull the sub from the box and remove the internal packing foam? He had to add some to the box for shipping purposes. It needs to be removed.
Never mind . You did that and I can't read.
You sure the wires aren't crossed?

I just did. Was just wondering if I forgot something stupid before emailing him. I know he will help me figure it out. Was just hoping I could fix it tonight so I can put the truck back together.

Yeah I tried swapping the wires. No change. I also followed the wires all the way to the sub to make sure the internal wiring wasn’t swapped.

Wow James contacted me within minutes of the writing him an email. Upon his diagnosis with what I tried he came to conclusion that the sub/driver was damaged during shipping. He is shipping me a new sub tomorrow.

Now that’s what I call customer service! Can’t ask for anything more. He has gone above and beyond. James has definately won a customer for life.

If I could like that more than once I would. Definitely top notch service!
I’ll be sticking with James for any future audio upgrades.
On a side note, I just got my sub today but won’t have time to install until the weekend. I noticed the box didn’t look like it provided much protection...hoping I don’t have the same issue

UPS man showed up with speaker box in hand. The box was in great shape for having traveled to the PNW.
Followed all the above write ups
Got it installed tonight sounds great, limited test time though. Need to mess with settings a bit.
Bet your ass that thing be bumpn tomorrow on the way to work!

Going to pull my sub out at lunch today and give it a good listen. At first when I installed it, I just sampled two songs from the driver seat. I tinkered with it last night, and played some other tunes, and noticed a muddiness and scratching noise with some other bass frequencies. So I put my ear to the sub, and it became more pronounced, even at low volume levels. I did notice when hand-tightening the screws after I removed the sub to take out the shipping foam that one of the screws was stripped out. I am going to pull the sub out of the box and see if I notice any muddiness and scratching noise during cone travel. I’ll keep you posted.

Diagnosed with JRT at lunch today. He thinks it's a separated voice coil because of the package being slammed around by UPS. That's even with the shipping Styrofoam he put in the box prior to shipping. Keep thinking about the videos of UPS and FedEx guys kicking stuff all the way up to someone's from porch .

Being the STAND UP GUY he is, he is shipping a new one to me today. If these couple of unfortunate instances and JRT's reaction don't show you how much he values customer service, then you're a tool.

I just ordered mine today based on the feedback from this discussion. I don't know much about audio and it sounds like this guy has gone out of his way to keep people happy. So he earned my business. I already got a shipping notice too! :)

Those that haven’t installed yours. Make sure to remove the foam inside the box.

This thing is solid! Makes the factory one look like a joke.

I soldered an extension cable for the speaker wire. You can make it reach but it’s a tight fit.

Honestly, the easiest way for the speaker wire is to cut it from the factory sub. Then, just connect and boom.
