I have a clicking noise that sounds like a fan or something winding down. It does not always do it. Nearest I can tell, the noise is not relate to AC being on or off or heater running. Best way I can describe the noise is a baseball card in the bicycle spokes and you are coming to a slow stop.

I do not want to deal with Toyota service if I can avoid it.

Anyone have a similar problem or know what it might be?

I have looked behind the radio several times, but with the ac panel off, and I have not been able to get the sound when it is all torn down.

Someone will chime in and maybe confirm for me but I am fairly certain that noise is normal.

the dash plastics are notoriously noisy. Try wedging a business card between some of the joints in the dash to see if it goes away. My spot was on the right of the radio trim. After you figure out what makes it stop, you can come up with a permanent solution. Otherwise, try turning off your fan and see if it goes away. Something could have gotten past the cabin air filter when changing it out. A blower motor with bearings going out can sound like that...did on my wifes Pilot.

Plastic gears perhaps? Maybe the mixer?

I’ve heard this noise. I looked under the hood. I popped off the big plastic trim on top of the engine and reseated it. Noise stopped. Could be a complete coincidence.

maybe, i changed out the radio and it is still under warranty; i figured they would try and blame it on the radio change and try and fix it myself

no filters have been changed; only 10k mileage on it; it is not the dash, was making the sound before and after i tore it apart; will mess with the fan settings and see
