Hi y'all. Got an interceptor for my 16 yoda 5.7 ffv limited 4x4 because I read it will help with the low end torque. It did, I got 35's on 20's so I needed it. I also have a k and n 63 series plastic cai( yeah, I also read about them but I like the sound), and it's taken away that bog you get when you get on it. I haven't installed the pedal thing yet and might not as I got no problem with it. Amazon had them for $283

Alright, installed that pedal thing and it sucks, seems I have to push down more and then it kicks in

Yea I removed the pedal connection. Not as much pop on initial acceleration.

Also ended up with a code that kept coming up. Check engine light. Was related to the mass air flow sensor but I connected back to the hypertech. It is off at the moment

So far so good. I've driven around for a little while and I like it. will be waiting for code. Are there any aftermarket MAS that are good? Or should I just clear the code and move on?

I just clear the code and move on. It's not the maf it's the signal from the hypertech. Guessing it throws it just out of range for the truck to think something's wrong.

So for the most part your happy with the Hypertech unit? I also have a 16 and I have been wanting to pull the trigger for one of these for over 6 months. I have read some mixed reviews and was not really sure about one. For the price I may just have to bite the bullet and get one.

I am very happy with it. The pedal thing not so much but it's not needed. Amazon has them for 283 new, almost 100 off the Hypertech website. I was lookin at bullydog before this but I emailed them and they said they haven't finished yet with their chip for ffv.

You save over 100 going thru Amazon, just looked on site, 390 is their price

Got the check engine light today. It happened when I put it on tow/haul. That sucker got up and took off though on tow/haul. So it has something to do with that.

That's weird that it does it in tow/haul mode. I thought that tow/haul only changed throttle response and shift points. So it ran good in tow/haul?

Ok, so I called Hypertech this mornin and they said to un/re install and put about 50-100 miles on it and see if the CEL is still on, said if it was go ahead and send it back to us and we'll look at it. Tech support was cool and helpful. He also said that it isn't harming the engine and it's just a sensor or something. See what happens in a couple of days as I do not drive much or far

Well I've had it back on for about 2 days and no CEL, I'm pretty sure once I hit the tow/haul button it's gonna come back on. Gonna find out to night after rush hour traffic. Guy at Hypertech said go 50/100 miles after it comes on and it should shut off. I'll report back then on it.

Is it just the ECU in our trucks being so sensitive, or do you think the Interceptor actually creates a problem?

Alright, just finished testing it out again and good results. Hit about 85 without lsd or t/h and no CEL. Turned on lsd and t/h and took it up to about 60 and no problems, gunned it not real hard but hard and no problems. Took it from a dead stop to 60 fast and no problems. If it changes I will update this post

Did you scan the code before you cleared it, or did the cel just shut off? Curious to know what code it threw.

I don't know what the code was, guy at Hypertech said it was probably a sensor. I just took off negative battery cable and cleared. Plan on getting a reader installed like csuviper has but it'll have to wait. Wife is gettin mad at all the money I'm spending. Bought more stuff tonight off Amazon, floor mats, and these bad mothers, plus a BA Muffler 7"

I know the feeling. I haven't told the wife I have the hypertech on the way. I'm going to use the excuse that I can sell the unichip. Great choice on the exhaust. I've got the 6" and love it.

Yep mine does the same thing every time I tow the boat. The next start up after I unhook it's gone.

Got it today, was goin fine for a while, then came off highway and took the turnaround and started driving again it came on. Gonna go the 50 miles and if still on then I'll send it back to Amazon and wait for bullydog. Mechanically truck is fine and still drives same and it's probably just a sensor but who wants to drive around with that

Mine only comes on in tow and haul mode as soon as I unhook and restart the truck it's gone. It's a MAF code that's happening the truck drives fine just a CEL wile towing.

Do yourself a favor and either stick with the hypertech or no tuner at all. Bullydog does not have the most recent ffv programming and from my conversations with them, they don't plan to. What that means is, you flash your ecu with a program that won't stop your trucks ethanol levels from rising. You end up with rough starts and bad mpg because the fuel pump is on full blast with your ecu trying to compensate for it. And even if you uninstall the bullydog tuner, you are still left without the newest program from Toyota, because bd's stock tune is out of date. The only way to fix it is to go to the dealer and get them to flash your truck with the stock Toyota program.

Just don't. That company doesn't give a crap about you or your truck. They just want your money.

Appreciate that, gonna stay with this Hypertech and just get a code clearer. I could tell the difference between it off and on, got the ultra gauge comin. @csuviper diy post had it, that and I just ordered the oil drain thing. Changed oil today and shit went everywhere, very liquidy
