My neighbor came by the other day with a brand new K&N filter for my truck and was going to give it to me. I told him to sell it on CL, I would just throw it away. Lol

Don't do it why? Will it not fit? Do you not like cold air intakes?

Do some research on K&N filters. They do not filter well.

They're garbage and perform as well as any you can buy from walmart. The only one worthwhile is the TRD intake. If you already have it then keep it.

You can but you won't like it. Most folks have noted a loss of low end torque with Aftermarket CAIs. Besides, your truck already has a CAI which basically cancels out any advertised benefits of an aftermarket system.

If you're looking for bling, just add a sticker.

I've never had any issues with the K&N dropins but it's true that the OEM air filter, AC/Delco are overall more efficient. If I drove in super dusty conditions all the time then I would just stick with OEM or a good equivalent and change when needed. I have two OEM filters for back up to use in case I'm driving in super dusty conditions for some length of time. I'm pretty much certain I'll go with the S&B setup with dry filter at some point. Best filtration #'s against any other brand. What is truly crazy is that many people claim instant HP gains with the K&N dropins. Delusional IMHO. I wish S&B would come out with a dry drop in filter.

As long as it hooks up to both ends and the MAF fits should be ok. Might not due to different generations. I have to agree with others when they say stick with stock. I have a k and n 63 series and I don't really notice anything till higher rpm's. I really like the sound it produces and paired with the chip I got it works out ok, without chip and it's a nice sound producer. My .02

Hooks up to the throttle body, not hooks up to 2 sides. But you gotta watch clearance if the setup is different than other gens.

Whats the gain if I add the TRD intake?
