Wife just dropped the mic - we’re expecting and i’m totally caught off guard. We have a healthy 19 mo old girl but fertility doctor said we had 1% - 3% chance of natural pregnancy..

and somehow we’re pregnant naturally before we started treatments.

I’m a little freaked out since i’m caught off guard by this news.

We’re both old (and i like to sleep) but plans have changed on a dime.

Wife is mad at me for being surprised but the the doctor just told us last week this was medically impossible.. i’m confused and not even sure why my wife is upset with me. i’m happy but was not expecting this. just going on what the medical people told us. makes me wonder of they’re just guessing.

    Wondering if anyone can relate??

Congrats! And Drs do know some stuff. We were told wife couldn’t get pregnant while breast feeding and yet #2 was made

What I’ve seen is that couples that go thru treatment, once the first one pops out, something happens to the woman’s body and BAM! become more fertile. Almost like it resets the hormones or you stop worrying about not be able to conceive and the less stress causes babies to be made easier.

Congratulations! I can relate - we tried various things and finally ended up with IVF. IVF failed we were taking a break from trying and two month laters we were pregnant.

We were older too. Just took naps when the kids were napping. It was hard when the kids outgrew naps because I hadn't. ;)

@COMiamiFan i wonder if this is true b/c once the Dr starts to talk about treatment and what they can do, things seemed to calm down and get more chill

Almost makes me wonder if the stress or pressure of the situation can affect ‘things’ and when there’s less stress, stuff can happen

I don’t know anything about science or how it works but it almost seems like this matters. Who knows

It all worked out. We froze some embryos and these didn't work either. Ended up getting pregnant naturally again after trying the frozen embryos.

Great that you were able to get pregnant without needing to do all the fertility stuff.

Just a month... that’s fast! Good for ya’lll. We’re almost 2 yrs into the 2nd one

I’m wondering if these Doctors really have inside information or if it’s just all luck? Total respect to medical folks but just seems like the science isn’t alyways 100%.

    Congratulations

Cancer left me “sterile”, but we had banked some and we used that to have our twins, which was perfect since we had one of each. We figured there was no need for birth control.....

Dr’s sometimes get things wrong. 5 years later I was a dad again at 40. Needless to say I was at the doctors getting a vasectomy shortly after. 3 is enough, but couldn’t imagaine life without the youngest
