    Yep the strap is a 5 minute fix, the cable is a PITA! The strap I use is good for 1800 pounds, i get it used from a buddy who is an electrician and they use it to pull cables through conduit.

    Do you have to take all the cable off the winch to get it to work? Do you know of any write ups on it or videos?

    I just took off all the cable and as I remember just tied a simple knot. If you go with strap you can put on a lot more on than cable.
