I just got the Swing Case for Christmas from my wife. Was a much desired item as there isnt any bed storage in the tundra. I needed something that would fit under my tonneau cover and the swing case fit the bill.

The brackets are nicely powder coated and the quality of the case is very good.

Install was very easy. Just had to remove one tie down on the side and mount the mounting bracket with self taping screws. All hardware was provided. I did have to adjust the latch but it was easy as the latch has oval holes for adjustment.

The case does easily lift off so a padlock is definitely recommended. Wish you could get a lock that matches the key for the top of the swing case.

I second this review, I love mine.

Tip: Spray a little fluid film or a different quality lubricant (not WD-40) on the latch mechanism under the swing case, also on the verticle hinges.

I didn't when I installed mine and after a while the latch started sticking. Fluid film solved that. Also lubricant on the verticle hinges will prevent the paint from wearing off from all the swinging.

I thought mine were pretty cool until they started to rattle. If anybody has a solution, I would love to see it. Also, a little pricing research on the internet and you will find deals. I got mine for $250.00+ for the pair. One other thing you shouldn't believe is the installation video that says "matching locks/keys" if you order a pair. Swing Case advised me this is not the case. However, they did make it right after I showed them the video and sent me matching locks. I was very pleased with their customer service. I wouldn't let the latch rattle scare you away. I'm thinking PlastiDip might fix it.

Aren't you worried that those self taping screws will come loose eventually? Especially in that sheet metal. I bought one that bolts to the floor. Dee Zee makes it. It's all metal with sliding drawers and a locking front cover if you wanted to lock it.

Not worried about the self taping screws pulling out. Should be plenty strong and last.

You will just need to trim the bedliner so the brackets can mount properly

Nicely done sir. I'm just now seeing this. Ordered mine Saturday. Got it yesterday. I completely agree, regarding a lock that matches that key. I may just use a kingpin for now. My bed stays locked.

It locks in place without anything on that lock bracket. No kingpin needed.

I love mine. Yes they do fit over the plastic liner, but does require trimming. These come in both left side and right side, so you can put one on each side. If you buy them both at the same time, be sure and ask for matching lock sets.

I also received one for Christmas, so far so good. I think my dad wanted to help me install it as a father/son bonding experience, but it only took about ten minutes to install so we just drank some beers instead. My only major criticism is that it sticks out from the side wall a little more than I'd like. It actually sticks out a little further than the wheelwell. But it's easily removed if I really need the space. I'll post pics later.

I still think it's absurd that Toyota would put a $45,000 truck on the market with no real cab storage or bed storage. But I love my truck.

No.... I got that! I meant, in stead of using a lock in that one spot, that "they recommend". I keep my tailgate and tonneau locked. No reason for me to lock it down. I was just gonna put a kingpin in the spot, for s&gs!

Gotta put this out there - I hope everyone is smarter than me and thought this out, if not...here are a couple of things to think about (prefaced with, these are VERY VERY good quality and I have NO complaints about the actual product - this is a problem with MY use case)

1- I have a diamondback cover, suspect following is true for ALL hard covers. The case does NOT swing out 180 degrees..more like 165. Due to this and jsut how it mounts, you cannot fully open the top of the case even without opening your cover, it opens about 1/2 way. For me, the whole point was to NOT have to open the cover to get to tools/recovery etc.
2- if you carry anything in your bed (regardless of cover or not), you have to push it to the front of the bed or remove it completely to swing the case open. shouldnt be a big deal..but they swing through the middle of the bed so there is lots of shuffling. if you are in a lifted truck or are short...its a PITA, trust me.

I'll be selling mine and going with a "porkchop" box with drawers (few examples, I'm not sure exactly what I want yet)

@csuviper - dude you're posts are amazing in your build thread. Thanks for the links and write ups. Definitely some great items I plan on adding over the coming months once I am in my Tundra. My wife dislikes you already however and has referred to you as my new source of why I have no money left in my wallet =)

    Thanks for what you do!

Makes perfect sense, I would want to be able to open boxes without lifting the last 1/3 of hard tonneau, otherwise what's the point of it swinging out unless ur truck is lifted 6"+. I'd rather put that money toward a bed slide as I tend to haul more tools than materials in my truck and those make loading and unloading things a breeze.

@csuviper I am looking at putting at least one box in but not sure I have the amount of clearance with my flip cover. There is a locking piece that hangs down from the track. Do you happen to know how many inches is from the top of the case to the top of the bed?
