How's it going just wanted opinions on the decked system vs bedslide. We go camping often now and like the storage of a decked system but also like that with the bed slide it makes a majority of the bed accessible to whatever is placed on the slide. Just asking for pros and cons from people with either system or what they've noticed from friends with the systems. Thanks!

Had a bed slide in my 06 Dodge, liked it, made stuff easy to load and unload, but had issues of stuff falling off in front of the wheel wells, being hard to retrieve.

Went with BedSlide under a truck cap as well.
I stick stuff in for forward corners in front of the wheel wells I don't need or use often, but want in the truck - plastic ammo box of medical and water purifier supplies in 1 corner, and rubber boots and QBeam in the other front bed corner. Never gets in the way of the Slide, and no trouble loading cargo so far. Depends on how and what you need to load.
Getting too old with bad knee to be crawling up into the bed all the time.

I'm thinking about a bedslide and research already had me convinced I'll get low side rails mounted on the portions nearest the cab, anticipating that otherwise, stuff will fall off.

I still think bedsides will work better for me than a decked system because I want to store spares and bins with equipment. The decked system doesn't allow me the same flexibility as bins secured with bungees, on a bedslide.

I plan on getting a cap as well and have a dog that will be traveling so placing a dog crate in the bed with either system. I agree trying to access things in the back of the bed gets tiresome over time and like having the ability to slide it all out with the bed slide also if I end up with a fridge adding that to the slide.... any pics of your setup by chance @tundracap

I kinda have been leaning away from decked I like the security of a decked system but not sure if it will have enough space for storage we carry larger bins with our sleeping bags etc. and not having a cab cover yet I can't feel comfortable leaving items in the bed.

Like others have mentioned it's how you plan to use it. I have a bedslide with open bed and voodoo bed rack. I like my set up for camping. I have tons of space to load gear with ease with the slide. Plus I have tons of room to mount things to my voodoo rack. My hi lift jack, roto packs, maxtraxx, bike mount etc.. all on my bed rack. And all my storage containers, yeti cooler and other crap on the bed slide. For me the decked system is nice if running a shell or open bed. If you run a bed cover and deck system, it really limits you on the vertical space you have available from the deck drawers to the bed cover. I also have the option of running a roof top tent on my voodoo rack like many members here, but I prefer ground tents.

Rago fabrication is the mount I am using for my quick fist mounts for my axe and shovel on my cab side rail. I also use their fire extinguisher rail mount on the side rail for my fire extinguisher. Sorry the pics I have posted are a little old. I can try to take some pics tonight if you need, let me know.

They make quality stuff and it's not cheap but very well built (over built). I am waiting for their large battery tray for the tundra

I had ordered some MOLLE panels from Rago in late November. Hadn't heard from them for a month. Called twice and they couldn't even give me a time when they would ship, so I cancelled the order and they refunded my $.
They still have some products I am interested in though. First order just didn't work out for me.

Not decked but I have a bedslide and Truckvault setup mounted in an open bed with BAMF full bedrack. I run it both ways
    -bedslide only
-bedslide mounted on top of Truckvault

I tend to run the bedslide only a lot more often. Drawers are great for daily gear and tools but camping I prefer the bedslide loaded up with waterproof gear containers arrows or netted. I also like bedslide only for mountain biking so I can load them up. I don’t have that option with the Truckvault due to the height.

Yep, BAMF. Jerry knows what he is doing for sure, this is an early version of the rack. He has made a few iterations to his design since. Hands down best looking rack on the market

I love my DECKED system, great for camping, throw a camper shell on the truck bed and you've got a queen sized sleeping area there.

Somewhere on the decked site they showed how to add a bedslide. Or used to anyways.

You have the exact set up I have been thinking about. Couple questions for ya:

    1. How hard is it to load a bike up on top of the rack? I'm 5'8" and am thinking I'll probably need a tire step or something?

    2. How is the install on the bed slide?

    3. Any thoughts on the full height vs. partial for the KB rack?

    4. Is there anyway to lock stuff to those Rago brackets, other than the obvious cable through handle or something?

Thanks, truck looks great with the bed storage option!

My issue with the decked and TruckVault systems is they just seem very inefficient in terms of space usage. IE, you lose the volume on the sides.

Thanks love this new set up, ditched my first set up which was lesson learned and hurt my wallet a bit. I originally had a pace edwards roll up cover with rails and had yakima bars. That set up pretty much sucked no room for anything

I believe they are fisk racing fuel cans on Amazon and you can purchase with a mounting bracket. I screwed down to my bed floor with metal screws. I think they are meant to hold fuel but don't see why not you wouldn't be able to use for water. FYI if you are in cali they won't ship something with EPA goes for roto pax as well.
