What should we be running our tire pressures at? I have a 2015 dblcab with 7500mi and my mpg says 12.7. I've never hand calculated it yet.

That depends on your tire/wheel combination. NOT what it says the max is on the side of your tires. It should be listed in the owners manual or the inside of the door.

Hahah idc about the mpg that much. It just caught my attention when someone said setting factory 30/33psi will kill your mpg. Just wondering what it should be at if factory recommends kills our mpg?

I would run 38 psi in all four tires if you have the factory P-Metric craptastic tires.

I've also been running 38-40 psi. The Toyota dealer suggested it. My 1st & last 6 miles each day to & from work is a twisty road and I did notice the extra tire pressure reduces handling through the bends & curves in the road a little so, at best, it's a trade off I've accepted. My tires are the Michelin LTX/MS2. Over the last 9 months I've owned the truck, I've driven 21,590 miles at an average fuel cost of $1.75 and an average mpg of 18.2 (I use fuelly.com and they keep track of the stats). If I would get 2 mpg less with the lower tire pressure (that's probably stretching the gain) it would have only cost an additional $256 for the 21,590 miles or 1.2 cents per mile more. Unless you're really into squeezing the best mileage possible from your truck, it's not worth the performance drop. My Tundra is a commuter vehicle and I'm amused by getting better milage even though the savings is quite minimal.

i just hit 400 miles on my stock 2016 5.7 cm first 2 days I was at about 10.3 it keeps climbing up now one week later I am at 15.0 im happy with that coming from my 4.0 Tacoma I averaged about 16.0 mpg with lift and 33s intake/exhaust only loss of 1 or 2 mpg with all that extra power its well worth it although im sure once I put wheels and lift I should drop a few mpgs but wont mind :D

Reset your average mpg after every fill up you will see a difference in mpg according to that average. Just remember everyone drives different! your easy may not be easy compared to someone else's

Noticed for the 1st 18-20 thousand miles the truck milage estimate was always over reported by up to .5 MPG. Now it usually under reports by as much a .3 MPH.

hand calculations: 15 mpg for today's fill up with 33" O/R tires. Only thing that sucks is the smaller gas tank on pre 2016 models.

I have 2016 DC 5.7 4x4 that has 600 miles on it and my average is 13.5 so far. All my driving has been in town, stop light to stop light so far. Haven't done a pencil calculation yet.

New truck, new engine, it takes 5000-15000 miles to break everything in, maybe more now that everyone uses synthetic oils, so I wouldnt judge your mileage just yet! Give it some time, it should improve some. And I would hand calculate my mileage each week, rather than rely on the trip computer

My 2014 5.7 started out getting around 12.9, slowly increased to 15. When I baby it, I get 16 around town. Did a 2500 mile road trip last year, and barely eeked 21. I measured this myself, and now that I know. I can drive more realistically.

Leer topper, MagnaFlow, TRD CAI, TRD Hvy skid plate, and I want less chrome!
My '16 TRD Off, DC started off getting almost 21 at times. Pueblo to Gunnison (Monarch pass) to Clear Lake, Taylor Res, 4 HI at times and speeding to smooth out the ATV dirt chatter on the road, over Cottonwood to Buena Vista, back to Pueblo and it averaged almost 21. Now that includes some very long down hills from the passes. Put on my leer topper, and MF exhaust and it's hovering around 18, when it used to get almost 20. I don't hammer it as a norm, and try to use terrain to my best advantage...speed up on the down and easy on the up. I would think that guys in the flats would get great mileage with the cruise control.

I've been averaging 16.2 (hand calculated), and I drive in Houston rush hour every week day. Two things I recommend, 1) slow acceleration. I try not to bust 1500 rpm EVER...if I have people tailgating at a stop, I'll sometimes be nice and push it to 2000 rpms...but nothing over. You burn a lot of gas getting up to speed...I also figure less wear and tear on the engine/tranny over time. 2) drive the speed limit. yeah it's boring, but it really does save gas.

My worst tank was 15.9 and best 21.7 and average 18.8. That's about 3/4 highway but did have a bit of city stop and go. Yes I try to be easy on the gas. Averaging 67 according to the truck from Boise to Salt Lake I averaged 20.5 (hand calculated) but admittedly was with a 15ish mph tailwind at least half the way. Truck always says about 1mpg better than hand calculating/phone app

    2 thoughts.

    I'm getting 15 mpg combined

And I've checked the mpg manually and the trucks readout has been spot on to withing a tenth of a mpg

Two more fill ups, not completely empty though.

Salt Lake to Vernal, UT 19.7 claimed 18.80 actual

Vernal to Colorado Springs 20.5 claimed 19.79 actual

I don't use CC unless it's completely flat. Will get a run downhill to help it get up the next hill when in rolling hill areas. Cruise at 65 highway or 70 freeway and not much faster unless downhill. Will let the truck drop a gear and slow 2-3mph rather have have it drop down 2 gears going uphill. Seems to work.

5.7 but the 35 inch tires are hurting me the most, but I live on a little island and don't leave for the mainland often so mileage is low. Price of fun!

2014 sr 4x4 with 5.7 work tow package,. 3/2 lift with nitto trail grappler 295/70r18. System on ladder rack with parts inside. Average mpg in Bergen county nj mixed driving. 80% local 20% high way. I get 12.5 according to computer. The computer has not been recalibrated. My single cab has a 2 inch lift in front and stock tires. My employee gets 11.5 according to the computer. I told him to stop beating on the truck. Both are 2014 ,same set up , except for the cab and tires. I should add that it is very easy to get down to 10.5 if you have a heavy foot and brake late coming to lights instead of coasting to them. From reading most of the replies it comes down to how you drive. I did see some high numbers due to different vehicle set ups. My buddy has a 4.6 and can average 17 mixed driving

Just came back from our first camping trip pulling with my new 15 tundra.

Our trailer is a 3340 lbs dry skyline Eco camp 20bh. I didn't put it on a scale before we left but I'd assume loaded it was 4000lbs

We traveled just over 2300km through the mountains in British Columbia Canada (1400 miles) and averaged 10.8 mpg on the truck computer, but through my road trip app I was seeing 20.41 L per 100 km or 11.52 mpg.
