The fuel pump went out. I have one ordered and it will be installed next week. Being flex fuel it is dealer only so far and it's around $700. I'll let everyone know if that fixes the issue.

When I come to a stop or am slowing down and then press the gas pedal and I don’t floor it but gently/smoothly press it the car jolts forward and revs up for like a half second. What’s up with that? 2016 crew max under 30,000 miles. Any help greatly appreciated.

So is it a mechanical issue or is it me? The car revs high and goes forward abruptly. I was thinking some fuel issue. I don’t know.

Many folks don't come to a complete stop. What I've often notice happens with the transmissions with 5 and more ratios is that we're catching the transmission during the 2 to 1 downshift and pressing the throttle trying to accelerate. The trans goes 2-1-2 very quickly and the brief moment that it spends in 1st makes it feel very much like it's slipping or jumped to neutral for a second. This can sometimes be even more abrupt when the engine and transmission aren't up to operating temp as the ECU has the engine revs slightly elevated and tends to want to be in a lower gear during the warm up phase. After a complete stop, note how soon the trans actually makes the 1-2 shift upon acceleration, it can be as soon as 5mph.

A few days ago I was hooking up a new radio and for some reason or another the illumination lights for the A/C controls, shifter lights, and push buttons (tow/haul, trac) no longer light up. I didn't connect the illumination wire to truck. The only wires I did connect was the reverse wire to the unit to get the camera to work. How is it that my gauges still light up and can be dimmed but the other lights be out.

    Ok..two questions——-
1.) are there lite up controls for the door controls for windows and door locks , the only thing that’s lit up is the word Auto for the drivers window.....

2.) I had a compustar remote start / Alarm put in to my 2018 CrewMax...I have only locked my key in there once...but it was on and had to remain on until my dad could go get the spare and bring it to me...and well that was a lot of gas blown...anyhow...I have tried to find out about remote connect with Toyota with no help...I also contacted compustar to inquire about the Drone Mobile app that is used by them...they said call the dealership...I just want to find out about someway to remotely unlock my truck in case keys ever get locked in again...I asked the dealership and the service guys said that I may want to google it...omg does anyone at Toyota know anything about their Toyota’s...I mean really!!!!!!!!!

Auto is the only one that I've ever seen. One would think Toyota would've done more here, the other one that's commented on a lot is that there isn't any back lighting for the remote mirrors either.

It's the same thing with the mirror controls. They're not back lit and can be a real PITA to see and get at in the dark.

I have a 2018 SR5 with the keyless entry and having issues locking and unlocking with the key remote. Doesn’t always work when pressing the button. I changed out the battery and both remotes still have issue. Is this something I can fix myself easily or do you recommend taking it in. TIA

On a regular cab 4wd is the slip yoke a common wear point? I can find all kinds of threads on the 2 piece tundra shafts but nothing on a 1 piece. I’m getting really rough quick shakes from the driveline at around 35mph under light acceleration can replicate it every now and then at 25 and 45mph.

I've measured the amount of driveshaft plunge on my truck from unladen up to it's rated payload, and it's only like an inch and a half. Are you familiar with when the last time the slip yoke was serviced?

No it’s a fairly recent purchase. I figured out the shake issue but would still like to service the slip yoke.

When I had the bumpers painted the 2 outer bumper brackets on the rear didn’t get put back on, was causing nasty bed shake when harmonics were just right.

Anyone know what grease Toyota uses? Blew my diff and will be cleaning the axle bearings of shaved metal if any, and repack bearings before I put newer diff in. Would like to have same or 100% compatible grease with the one Toyota uses on their wheel bearings. I found a manual, for chassis (propeller shafts) they say "Lithium base chassis grease, NLGI No.2" Would the same work for bearings?

Want to do it right and make sure it will last me a couple years at least.

Aren't the rear wheel bearings lubricated by the differential oil?

Wait, by that do you mean like the hubs where the wheels bolt on to? Sorry I'm kinda newer to this stuff, slowly learning my way through it

Yes, on the rear axle, this is what I mean. I think that gear oil is directed out toward the rear wheel bearings. I haven't looked into this on my Tundra, but my 97 Tacoma was like this. I think that most rear axles are like this, but I'm not 100% positive so were I in your shoes, I'd wait a little bit to either get an answer from @LOTSOFTOYS, or someone else of similar/greater confidence.

Bushing? Try to spray some silicone spray(WD40 if you want) on each bushing one by one and see when the noise stops. Just spray one bushing in the area you think the noise is coming from then try to bounce the truck.

New to the forum. Want to add a front winch bumper. Will this affect the front safety system? If so are there brands/styles that will not?

My question is about TPMS Sensors. I have a 2010 DC w/53kmi on it. I run one set of wheels/tires in summer and another in winter. I just recently transferred the Winter (original) TPMS Sensors which have about 40kmi on them to a Texas set of Rims with some Michelin OEM take offs for future winter use. I took a chance and stayed with the original 9year old 40k/mi tpms sensor. My understanding is that they only turn on when the truck is in motion so they may be old but low miles. However, I'm sure age takes it's toll also. I've never had a tpms sensor battery fail.

I'm wondering what you see at the dealership as far as when tpms sensors fail. There are a lot of 2008+ Tundras out there and have not seen tpms sensor battery fails as an issue. The life spans are supposed to be something like 5-7 years Seems they last much longer. Thanks for your feedback when you get a chance!

Alright @LOTSOFTOYS, any idea what the sound heard around 9 seconds might be? It only does it under load around 4k RPMs. I just had my cam towers re-sealed in case that might help narrow it down. I'll be taking it back to the dealer tomorrow either way, but I'm just wondering if you might have any insight. Thanks!
