I brought my first Toyota home tonight, a 2019 Tundra Limited 4WD. What do members recommend for running board/ tube rails? OEM Toyota or is there a good aftermarket option?

I am shopping for some myself. I tried using them to get in the truck on a friends. To my dismay, I found out you are way too high to get in stepping on them and have to lower yourself back down to get in. I think if I buy them, my left thigh is going to get much bigger than my right one. :)

I would love to get some AMP STEPS but I don't think they would last long in this weather here in Illinois !

There are tons of options. It just depends on what you like. I have the N-Fab Predators and love them, but that isn't everybody's style.

Seems as if there's 100+ different vendors of side steps & running boards, to suit all preferences, wants, and needs.
I removed the Toyota tubular steps that came on mine, and replaced with GoRhino RB20 boards.

I wanted an extra-wide step that extended beyond the Tundra's body panels, to provide protection against door dings in parking lots.

The RB20 provides a nice stable platform for getting in & out -- Even a stock suspension Tundra has a large step-in height.

All these after-market steps are made in China. The fit & finish generally won't be quite as good as original Toyota brand, but can still be pretty decent. My RB20 was fussy to get perfectly aligned, and shimming was needed in a few spots to get a really good install. Nevertheless, the end result was good.

RCI steps are made in Loveland Colorado. Better and beefier than OEM.

Love the Magnums I got, but the powder coating or whatever they used sucks. Started rusting within 9 months of having them. I got them on the cheap (busted open box) and couldn't pass up the deal. After this winter I'm going to have them blasted and redone. Still puts me ahead $50 after having them redone.

My next mod on my Tundra is going to be a set of Go Rhino SB-20. But all of these are looking good too!

You welcome. The boards are growing on me BTW. Time will tell how they hold up. The install is easy and yet.. bothersome. For example the front black bracket that goes on the truck sticks out too far when the steps are placed above it. The bracket it self has slotted holes for the bolts but because the bracket does not sit flush on the truck you can’t adjust the bracket inward so it won’t show when the steps are put above it. So I had to slide the step forward a tad to hide the front black bracket best I can but that left the silver u bracket exposed some.

Another vote for AMP rails. If there is a 4wheelparts location near you they install them at no cost and often have no sales tax deals.

I've had my power steps since mid summer. I have the toggle installed just in case there is freezing slush so I can lock them up.

It’s a pretty open ended question because there’s hundreds of options.

    Things to consider:
    -sliders if you off-road
-wide ones that stick out past the doors are great parking protectors
-some, even popular ones, corrode earlier than later, check long term owners
-ones like ICI Magnums can be shin busters if you miss the step
-whereas whole length boards let you step anywhere
-ones with holes let water/snow go through
-power steps may not work in extreme cold; electronically motor dependent
-OEM tubular ones are a bit dated imo
-OEM plastic boards won’t corrode but they can crack (no rock crawling)

In same predicament here. Getting ready to work with dealer yet undecided over OEM or AM step. Good considerations and thanks @JoshuaA , Power boards provide additional step access but @ cost of protection from parking lot bandits. Like the tubes, DS2's and nerfs but as clumsy as I am a shin buster or two will leave lasting memory mark and make me scream a few :censored: exp's. Anyone w/additional experience or comments on the OEM brushed stainless vs the Classic RBs? Have seen many nice options (photos) posted, but am sensitive to color matching keeping me away from Chrome/Stainless option without BedLiner spray. Me and the :ballchain: are vertically challenged so still deciding on something or go with stock out the door. Enjoying this board appreciate and will research all suggestions. Thanks all! BTW 2019 CM MGM Platinum.
