Instructions say use a trim removal tool and press away while pushing in the location of the snaps. It’s a PIA and I do t want to break it. I have the tools but it’s stubborn.
Figured I would have access from the inside from beneath so did an oil change to remove the skid plate. So I have accomplished something . And that’s where I am at... temp is about 26 degrees here so it’s no party LOL.
Anyone have insight into removing this.
Thank you! Patience is a virtue when you have a big goodie to install and get stuck. No vids available on this installation that I could find.

I used a plastic trim tool remover. Inserted it between the bottom of the grill and the bumper and pushed the grill up. And push the top to the rear of the truck.

What are you installing? I put a diode dynamic 42” bar in there.

Wow! Do you have a link? It’s a grill guard. I think this might work. Very clever. I would have lights installed within the body of the truck.

Yes I know this is an old thread but I’m in the same boat trying to remove this trim piece to install a ranch hand. I’m prying from the bottom and pushing the top to the rear as stated above but it don’t seem to be budging.

I've noticed that some of the clips are a little more difficult to pop that others - my grille insert came out with almost no issues, but when we installed a bar on @BiggHertz truck, all but a few were stuck. You can see the cutouts where the clips meet the grille - just work those one at a time, starting at the outside and working to the middle from each end, pressing in on the grille and using the trim tool to push the bumper out from the grille... hope that made some sense.

I’ll keep at it. Gonna go find a trim tool or small nail puller. Thanks

Whatever you do, don't push on the grill like @TRDFerguson suggested to me. You need to use a trim removal tool to undo the latches. He wasn't very clear in his instructions to me when he and I were working on @BiggHertz truck. I may have borked something.

Yeah I keep referring back to the above photos trying to figure out how the little triangle tab pieces clip into / snap into (whatever) the lower part of the bumper. Are there tabs in the top edge of the grill trim piece that also hold it or is it merely those triangle shaped tabs on the bottom

The lower triangles are just there for added support but don’t provide any attachment points. But yes, the same tabs exist around the whole perimeter of the grille. Here’s a full look at the grille removed.

That’s what the clips look like from the inside for anyone having the same issue as I. I have pried, pulled, tugged, cussed, skinned a knuckle, cussed some more and …..nothing.
