    I've had one installed for a couple years now with no issues. I don't see why it wouldn't work with the skids. I have the TRD pro skid

    Just doing my first oil change after installing skid plate this month just wondering if I should install the Fumoto valve I ordered

    I don't use a line, I just spit it out into a pan. Probably a 1/4" would work

    I ordered a Fumoto valve for my truck this last summer. When I went to install it, it would only screw in 2 threads. I didn't want to force it and strip threads resulting in a leak. I ended up returning it. The factory drain plug threaded in without problem. :der:

    I'm going to re-order one and try it again. I'm wondering if the Fumoto plug's threads were out of spec.

    Good move by not forcing the issue. Probs a British Thread vs. standard metric? I know the rear diff breather extension on our models required a britsh thread versus standard metric. Could be the case here. On our models, its pretty easy to change the oil without the Fumoto. I think these newer gens with skid plates being in the way is why these are popular devices.

    That could be it. I didn't spend too much time trying to figure out the threading. It was the
    $38 F103N with LC-10 lever clip FN-Series Engine Oil Drain Valve, 1 Pack
    F103N though, as specified by Fumoto's website. I just checked their website and they use 12mm - 1.25 threads. Any idea what our drain plugs are?

    We're definitely lucky with our 1st Gens being easy to do. I want one since I occasionally have to do an oil change in the dead of the Canadian winter and I don't have a garage. Not much fun messing around with drain plugs at -30C while laying on icy concrete. :(

    Mine works perfect. I have a hose attached to it and put it right into a milk jug ..It does drain slowly though.

    I had one on my 2016. It took forever to drain, a steady but small stream. I wondered why it was taking so long, removed the hose and valve and the oil poured out. It was all the way open and I inspected when it was off, everything looked ok. Maybe the internals aren’t opening enough for a larger flow.

    I've had one on my Tundra since the first oil change . 30,000 miles with no problem. They have over 25 years of manufacturing and "development" on them. Rock solid design and performance.

    Have one also on my Jowett Performance oil filter cap. Mega easy to drain the oil from the oil filter housing.
