Is there way to add the blind spot monitoring in the mirrors? It's one of the features I overlooked when I bought my Limited. It's where it lights up when another vehicle is on your right or left.

I have the system on mine. My truck had damage to the resin bumper and I was told the sensor computer located on each side of the rear bumper (cover) costs $850 each (one on each side). Mine were fine. The switch was completely dead. The “computers” connect to the Parking sensor monitor harness (that I had to replace). I would check to see if you have the sensors already on your vehicle. They are very pricy. The truck comes with the lighting sensor mirrors which I had (the system didn’t work when I bought the truck) but when I replaced the harness and bumper extensions. It all worked fine. I was also told toyota would have to “recalibrate” the system. This was not necessary. I love having it. Great on the highway in traffic and sends an alarm for crossing traffic (from quite a distance). The system could be pricy if you don’t have the components but worth it I have found. Also, I am not sure if the lighted mirrors require a different harness as well. That’s about all I know.

This literally saved my azz this morning on my drive to work. Merging from outside lane to the middle lane and someone was merging from the fast lane to middle towards my rear quarter panel... lit up and I just moved back over and pushed on. Pretty sure it wouldnt have played out so smooth without um in this particular one. Good luck on the hunt u have aftermarket options.

Crutchfield has several aftermarket blidspot systems for sale and they are all under $850. I added a second set of monitors to my 2Gen Tundra because it had a 6” lift and the stock system and just wasn’t reliable. You should check out the various systems online.

I did not know you would be able to get a 2018 Limited without it. Is it possible that it is not just turned off? Or is it really an option?
It works with sensors in the rear bumper, so if you do not have those, and you have chrome bumpers, then it cannot be added without replacing the bumper caps also. It can get pretty expensive if you have to do all that.

Yea that’s odd. My 18 Limited came standard with BSM. Did your dealer swap out the stock mirrors with tow mirrors by any chance?

The way i'm reading the pic you posted, it sure seems like you do have: LDA = Lane Departure. I'd say a call or return trip to the Dealer would be in order. Hope you live close to them.

Yes, apparently it is an option.
I would say go to the dealer and ask them how much it is to add this option. I have it on my truck and like it. It also comes with the cross traffic alert, which has actually been more helpful to me when pulling out of a driveway or parking spot where my view is blocked.
That being said, just thinking what it may cost to add it, I would probably just learn to live without it. Sensors, bumper ends, mirrors, maybe some wiring to be replaced will add up quick. Sorry, it is not good news. Hopefully the dealer can give you better news.

Post a pic of your mirrors.
If you're truck came with "convenience package" it should have it.

From the service department at a dealer. The wire harness was a couple hundred as I remember. I got it for mech less from and online site for a dealer in California. OEM Toyota.

I am forever looking for specs and this type of manufacturer diagram and have had very little luck. I am thinking to put out the suggestion that this site host tech manuals and repair manuals, owner manuals, etc. it would be an invaluable resource to members for repair and parts identification. I don’t know if this is not done due to some restrictions?
I belong to a tractor site that has a library of tech manuals, (by series, model and year) and every thing you need for service etc for most tractors Donated by individual members. It’s an invaluable resource that has saved me so much time and effort! At the very least it points you in the right direction.

I have been looking for a service and parts manual for my tundra for a while now! What I would give for that service managers electronic database! Maybe someone here has something. I have sometimes seen schematics provided in parts searches on some websites.

I think they are pretty close. See post above. The service tech at your dealer will probably give you a copy. It’s what they use to ID your parts.

I would run to the truck with a good light and looks inside the rear bumper corner. Use the spec sheet for the location. It’s a small box banter inside the corner extension facing the side( lane of traffic to the side) it’s about the size of a large cellphone and about 3/4 inches thick. Has 3 nuts attaching it. It might be black so hard to see.
If you see that, Jump for joy! It’s probably the most expensive OEM part of the system. If not, pull out your wallet. LOL or go aftermarket. (You could also try your luck with an auto salvage place-never know)
I love mine. Just an hour ago it picked up cross traffic from a good distance as I was backing out of a driveway I had never been at before.

I'd be willing to sell my mirrors. I had bsm on my limited but I've added aftermarket bumpers and completely done away with it. I have an entire hookup for it.

I made it out to my truck this morning. The verdict is that I don't have the hardware for BSM unless this last picture I took is it. I checked both sides and don't see anything resembling a box on each side of the bumper.
