Hope this is in the right location.

I have 3 questions about my heater/ac system.

    1) When it’s on the warm to hot marks and I push the button to recirculate (car symbol button in picture) and have it set for the air to push out to the floor and top (or any setting that’s not defrosting), after a minute or so it automatically turns off the circulation light. Why would it do this?

    2) for the dial where you set how want the air to be distributed, what do the settings mean with the dots that are in between the symbols?

    3) when I have the heater on, it blows the hardest/most heat on the 4th to last red mark. Any of the last 3 hot marks (turning in the hot direction) it doesn’t blow as hard. Why would that be?

    1. Toyota built that into the HVAC - guess they were sick of people complaining that their windows were fogging up with the recirculate button on. It does this when the outside temp is less than 50 F. IIRC.
    2. Dots mean that it's favoring the label to the left - with a small mix of the label to the right. For example first logo - air is blowing through face vents - move it to the button between and majority of the air is coming through those vents with a small percentage going to feet. No idea what the % break-out is.
    3. Last question has me stumped. Not sure on that....

I really appreciate the detailed responses! Very good to know and now makes sense why that is.

For question 3 (if you have the same-ish truck) maybe you can see if your truck does the same?

I had a truck awhile back that somehow short-circuited on the dial by being stuck in between two notches. I took it apart and found carbon buildup and melted plastic. It reminded me to make sure I always had the knob and a positive stopped position on each individual notch. If that makes sense. I cleaned up all the contacts and it worked flawlessly after that. Don’t know if the tender works the same but it might be worth looking at.

Thanks for asking these questions. #1 & #2were answered and I personally thank TTCrewmax.
For #3, I thought it was interesting you had this and had to confirm myself. That truly does happen, it's like @ the 4th last RED mark, it gets some extra power or something.
Following to see if someone has an answer for us. Just stumped.
