Just did the Pop and Lock mod on my 2018 CM. One note is the wire colors have changed:

Green goes to Orange (Redish) silver dash
Blue Goes to White sliver dash

Figured I would add this in case anyone comes looking for info...

    Cheers:cheers:

Installed the bed lights on my 18 today, wiring is a little different than the previous ones. Toyota routes the ground through the switch and uses the 12v to the relay for the hot side on the 18. Instructions are at: http://toyotaparts.sparkstoyota.com/install/00016-34089_2018_tundra.pdf

I also ran some wires along this same path from the footwell to the underside for Running board lights later.

Finished the install and very happy with the results! Pop lock is a little louder that intisipated but well worth the noise for the function. Thanks OP and everyone who added instructions.

I may be late to this conversation but I cant believe that toyota doesn't actually have their own parts for this (or included it in a trim package) and the dealers have to "make" a part by renumbering it. Anyways I got a Viper 2 way installed on my 18 tundra.. you guys know if i can make use of the "Aux" button on the remote so when my kid goes to put her hockey bag in the bed the bed is the only thing that unlocks?

It looks like the 2018 instructions call for an inline fuse. Did yours come with a fuse or is not necessary to install? Can I just tap into the two wires like it shows and be good to go?
    Thanks!

I did not use a fuse and have had no issues.

I just finished installing this today! The longest part of the install was getting the wired secured under the vehicle.
I do not mind the loudness of the actuator, it actually reassures me that it's working.

Has anyone wired the OEM bed light on a 2018? I would love to know what wire is used to trigger the cargo lights. Thanks in advance.

I put a good amount of Dynamat in there, including some on the actuator arm, much better. You can still hear it lock but its closer to the sound of the door locks as opposed to a loud clunk sound..

I followed these instructions step by step, except for the mysterious in-line fuse, don't worry about that little guy. It's not needed.

Long time postponing this but that loud actuator got me nuts for a few weeks, finally had the time to fix this and here is the end result, much much better now

As OP mentioned don’t forget to apply lithium grease to all movable parts to reduce noise even more.

Installed pop & lock a good year & half ago, and always hated how loud it was. put some dynamat on it today, and I can’t believe the difference. It’s about as loud as the regular doors are now. Thanks for the tip.

Did you guys Dynamat the entire tailgate or just the actuator section? is 12 sq. feet enough? That shit is expensive!

I had a bunch of it laying around so I used a good amount. I also added a small square on the back of the access panel just above the actuator. It’s barely noticeable now, just enough to let you know it’s actually locking/ unlocking. Here is what I did...
