Ok folks, since SCS won’t budge on the bright silver bead lock bolt heads on a black rim, I contacted Icon alloys. They will switch the bolt heads to match the rim.

Now here is my original set-up forecast; I was going to do 18” rims with 295/70/18 tires, using a Bilstein 6112 in front at 2.5” and 5160’s in the read.

If I put 17” rims from Icon on, does anyone know how that changes my tire size? I want minimal trimming with the same “fill the wheel well” look the 295s would have given me. I am still doing the Bilstein set-up.

Thanks for your advice, and please post pics of your 17” rim setup!

If you're asking the equivalent height to a 295/70/18, the closest will probably be 315/70/17. Might rub slightly more because the tire will be 20mm wider and will stick out 10mm more than the 295's.

295/70/18 is gunna need some trimming to the front fender liner. I fully removed mine and it’s still a tight fit in there. And I’m on a 3 inch lift in the front.

Ok. So maybe 305/70/17??? Yes, that is exactly what i am trying to figure out.

Pretty much “back to the drawing board”.

Is there a difference in the rim width? That may play a part on rubbing issues. But google tire size calculator. The height of the 295 on an 18 and the 315 on a 17 are almost identical in height however just like @joonbug said. There will be a difference in the width and that is where you may have rub issues.

If you're worried about rubbing and don't want to get a CMC, the 305/70/17 is probably the way to go. It's only half an inch smaller than the 295/70/18 and will only stick out 5mm more. Might still rub the front liner a bit but shouldn't be too bad.

And let's not forget offset. All icons are 25mm offset. That's pretty sweet spot. I actually drove for a month with a 305/70 18 without a cab mount chop with front liners massaged a little bit with no rubbing... Granted that's a RARE occasion. Just didnt want to leave that part out

Yeah I agree but I’m running 25mm offset and you definetly need to massage it I agree.

These are 295/70 R17, no trimming, push front liner forward a bit, little heat gun to the mudflaps and no rub. I wanted to keep the mudflaps. Any bigger and I will be trimming stuff.

Man I wish you were on 17” rims. I’ve been looking trough so many tires wanting to upgrade but I’m kind of leaning towards the BFG KM3 at this point. They’re just quite a bit heavier than the Coopers

That’s messed up! But at the same time sounds like permission to upgrade!
