I'm studying the wires that came with the Tesla HU in prep for the install. In your pic you show the truck wire for the Satellite antenna that will not be used in the new HU. Is this a separate wire from the GPS antenna? I'm asking because I will attempt to also install the SiriusXM Onyx XM receiver. I can plug this into one of the HU aux inputs with a 3.5mm to RCA adapter but now need to figure out how to use the stock antenna. I would rather do this then try to run the cheap XM antenna.

Yes, the GPS and satellite radio antenna connections are separate on the truck... I could not even find the GPS antenna connection from the truck. I used the GPS antenna that came with the radio and screwed it into the gold colored connection on the back of the head unit and ran the “puck” through the back of the dashboard over the steering column and to the far left side A arm. The cord will wedge between the speaker cover and the dash plastic and you can set the GPS receiver up by the front windshield.

If you are connecting a separate satellite radio receiver and antenna like you stated, I would assume you could connect it to the RCA Aux input connectors and find an adapter to connect your receiver to the gray satellite radio antenna plug. If there is no adapter for that gray plug to the Onyx I’d guess you would run the antenna that comes with the receiver. I can’t find a good picture of the Onyx plugs to tell if it will fit or not.

Yes, the iDatalink ACC-SAT-TO2 includes an adapter cable for the XM Satellite receiver. This cable should be plug and play for the XM and then I can use one of the other cables in the iDatalink kit to splice to the GPS truck wire. This may work

I am also curious about the front cam, I know that Phoenix makes this https://phoenixandroidradios.com/co...ar-camera-automatic-control-module-switch-box
but I am thinking about trying out the 360° cam https://phoenixandroidradios.com/co...-hour-parking-monitor-loop-recording-g-sensor
I'm on wife probation again after getting gears and Aurburn LSD.

Ok. Here is a new one that happened this morning. My Bluetooth connection doesn’t play music anymore. The phone Bluetooth works making and receiving calls... but no music. Last night it worked fine, nothing changed since then. Startup this morning and nothing. Tried the following:

    - Turn truck and phone off and on again
    - Deleted Bluetooth connection from truck and phone and reconnected
    - Checked any kind of mute and volume settings

It shows that it is playing, eg the “equalizer” bar bounces around. Just no sound.

Running iPhone 7+, updates are current. No updates, setting changes, system changes on the phone or head unit from yesterday.

Calling Phoenix as soon as they open. Hoping that someone here may know.

Thanks for being upfront with your problems. I want one of these as long as they’re not buggy, for the most part I can handle UI fixes and software updates. That’s not a good sign when nothing has changed. Can you still plug in a USB under the HU and it’ll play? How does Google Maps get on the screen? Is it running off the android app in the HU and just getting network connectivity from your iPhone?

There are a few bugs. So far no show stoppers as everything I have ran into has/can be fixed. The jury is out on the Bluetooth music, but stay tuned. I think there is a setting somewhere that should provide an easy fix. I’ll try plugging it in to the USB and see what happens. Google maps can be mirrored from your phone screen or played through the app on the head unit. Be aware that you will need to pair your phone and use its data for it to work from the head unit unless you download the map for offline use.

Ok the Bluetooth streaming has been fixed. Talked to Phoenix and under the settings, go to sounds and make sure they are all turned up. Apparently there is a bug that causes them to turn all the way down or off somehow.

I had that issue a little while ago. It was showing on the eq but not playing. I made a phone call and it came through the bluetooth and then went back to my music and it started again. Not sure if it is just a glitch bit it has happened a couple times and when I made a call it reset.

Google maps on the radio. No mirror looks much better. I’ll take a video and upload it later tonight.

Question on the truck wiring. Have the JBL HU and do not know what the grey wire is for that I am pointing to. The black wire just to the lower left and the black wire in the upper right is the GPS and XM Sat antenna wires. So what is the grey one?

That's the USB from the truck. I plug that to my USB1 and I ran the USB2 to the glove box which I have a 2tb portable harddrive.

I wish I can show you my connections but busy with family. I'm sure and you should have an adapter that connects to the gray wire.

Have not sorted out which one is the GPS and which is the XM yet. Still trying to get the basic functionality going. The above post is correct in that the grey wire is the USB and the 2 black ones are the GPS/XM

Just read on the Facebook group that, yes, this statement is correct. The lower left wire (in pic) which is a black wire with a foam wrap and a "white" connector is the GPS. The top right wire (in pic) which is the black wire with "black" connector is the XM antenna.

Finished the install with the exception of the GPS and XM antenna. Everything is working as it should (that I've tested so far) and I'm fairly impressed with gen 2.
