Do you think your exhaust will cause issues with that strap? I made the mistake of cutting the tip off of our FJ exhaust for clearance and now have a pretty decent melted chunk missing out of the plastic bumper close to 12” away. Just food for thought...

I am still learning, what you are doing is trying to make it so the axle does not hit the frame when offroading,?

thank you, the more I look at all these mods the more I realize I might end up putting as much money into my truck as what I paid :)

Thought about it, its pretty far away, but im going to put some short downturns on the exhaust to direct it to the ground.

Awesome Bruce, Looking forward to seeing you complete this part of your build. I'm glad sharing our experiences with each other helped shed some light on the project, I know just enough to be dangerous lol, it's nice to have @osidepunker expertise with suspensions, that man knows his stuff, my build would be nowhere without Alex. That's really what this community is all about and the way you share your experiences and knowledge on here is extremly benificial to the rest of us, Thank You. Really excited for you, just an incredible build and your doing all the work yourself  very inspiring.

Bruce after looking at that last picture of your bump, I take it back. You have similar distance to the frame at full bump as I do.

Don't point it straight down to the ground. It blows straight onto the dirt and kicks up a massive dust cloud at WOT and when you turn on your truck. If you have your door open when you fire it up, you'll have a cab full of dust. I had mine like that and it was obnoxious. I cut it again so that its more like a 45 degree downturn and its much better. Still kicks up dust, but no where near as bad as before.

@osidepunker @Bo-Hunter @831Tun thanks gents good to know! Deff don’t want to create a new problem.. I’ll look at some 45 degree options.. I could run them to the side of the truck and put the bed side like this...

Thanks Greg like I said before couldn’t have done it with out you guys.. I definitely want to make sure people can learn from what I do. That’s why I enjoy doin the build threads and how to threads. Hopefully it enables others to 1. Save a few bucks by doing mods yourself and 2. People can learn about their trucks and what and how mods work.

Thanks again... hoping to wrap this up ASAP... so I can get back in the dirt. I’m having withdrawals :tumbleweed:

I'm a neophyte compared to what you're doing. That said, would the side exit allow for the flex/ movement of the various components involved??

nah wouldnt change anything, and it actually wont work because the leafs would be in the way..

look in this picture where the muffler ends in relation to the leaf spring. the fender is further forward. id have to move the muffler and other stuff, thats a lot of work for something that has an easy fix. Would be cool but wont work.

They said there's an upper link that runs parallel to the gas tank.

Yea, you can see it on the passenger side of the diff. It mounts to that bracket that's welded on.

Would that increase your odds of starting a fire if you parked in dry grass/shrubs and left the engine on?
    Just a thought....

A possibility but my sparky personality and firey attitude is more likely to do that than my exhaust ... I’m still looking at options... and so far Bama stacks are still in the running too @SoCal8654

Well I had navy drill this weekend so didn’t get as much done as I would have wanted plus was waiting on a few parts...

Good news the Tc shackles are giving me a little better setup on droop and stuff so that’s good and started to pull the short rod ends off the shafts and installing 3” rod ends ... I should have it finalized this week and start finish welding and painting everything maybe by weekend have it back on it’s wheels.
