Awesome - I’ll have to try one. The adhesive on these emblems is nuts.

Yeah.. the blow dryer is likely a good idea lol Took awhile to negotiate them off, and then even longer getting the glue off the back of the badges. Way more work than expected. Make sure you dedicate some time for this project.

I figured it would be a couple days from start to finish. What are you using for glue / tape to put it all back together and onto the truck?

I purchased some 3M tape to put it back on with, praying it is enough. Nothing like the tar from hell that was originally holding it on. It all snaps back together still pretty tight but I'll add some gorilla glue to be sure. Waking up at 5am to try and sticking it back together. Have to be at work for 7. If not it will be a couple weeks before I get another chance.

Sigh.. things are still a bit tacky this morning. Attempted to put everything together but also noticed a few spots I need to touchup. Guess It will be 2 weeks before they make it back on the truck. :(15391688791646433492339146771505.jpg

But the color is pretty close.

You only need this as they don't make blacked out Platinum plaques which you have to black out yourself, customize or leave off. Comes with tape:

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/FOR-2014-2...g2-9:sc:USPSFirstClass!60602!US!-1:rk:13:pf:0

You could match it up with matte black tailgate TUNDRA inserts too.

20lb fishing line worked great for me, then the wheel, and GooGone. I'd be worried wrecking my finish with a card. The line slides back and forth to cut between the glue, it doesn't contact the paint. I tried line from my kid's rod at first, too weak.

Platinums dont have the 5.7 badge, they have a platinum badge in it's place.

Heat gun and 30lb test line. If having issues use line like a saw. Line will cut right threw it next time. Then put goo gone on cloth and hold over what was left. Makes it easy to remove and no wheel needed, just a little elbow grease. Then polish and buff before putting back on.

The newer trucks I swear have the smallest amount of paint and clear on them. Some of the simplest things leave huge scratches. Or maybe I am just anal retentive

Yeah I did them my self, took them apart like the ones above and painted them with SIM Trim black. They match the factory black emblems great.

Get it done man! Lol Loving it but definitely find spray paint. Love the look but spray would have been a much cleaner finish and less of a PITA
