I was looking to add a tailgate light bar and came across the BLADE by Putco. I think what makes this light bar stand out from the rest is the fact it is a full LED strip and doesn’t show gaps between the diodes creating a clean strip of light. Another large plus is the fact it can be installed with the supplied clips which allows for easy removal should you need to access the spare tire opening. Overall it is super bright and operates with your running lights, brake, reverse, and turn signals. I wasn’t a fan of splicing the original wires so I purchased their quick connect harness which makes for a plug and play installation behind the bumper allowing for a clean install. Also, it still enables you to have full functionality of your trailer light connections. The adapter is part number 529004. Happy viewing!

I have the same one, first mod I did to my truck, I love it! I did splice my wires though, wish I had known about the connector!
Something I've been thinking about recently: Is it possible to lower the spare now? since it blocks the access hole?

I didn't attach the 3M strips to the back of the light bar itself. I used the 4 brackets it came with which will allow the light to be removed should you need to access the spare.

Could you get a picture at night with reverse lights on? I'd like to see how much it illuminates behind the truck. Thanks in advance

Very nice. I picked up the same one. Guess I'll order the plug adapter. Don't you have to run 1 wire for the reverse light? @Storm

    I like this LED.

To clarify: this LED when mounted obstructs the spare tire hoist access? If so, the LED has to be removed to access? That sounds like it could be a PIA if on side of the road somewhere.....

What length did you go with? Also is there a delay when you hit the break? I like the tail lights light up before the light bar

Yes, the plug harness has a white wire which I connected to the white wire on the light bar. The upside is you don't have to splice any of the wires on the truck.

60" the part number is 92009-60. As far as a delay, it actually lights up in sync with the brake lights, may be a little quicker. In terms of timing down to the millisecond, the LED bar lights up quicker being LED vs the filament type tail light bulbs that come on the truck.

Very nice write-up and pics. Thank you! I installed the 48-inch version with the Curt connector. I also used the clips so that it can easily be removed, if required. Looks great. No issues in the three months that I've had it. It comes with a three year warranty. I receive positive comments from neighbors, friends, and even stangers.

How much does this run. It looks good. Are the turn signals sequential? That would be cool

    @Pudge
Sean My friend offered me this light bar, brand new in the box for $50. It is the ANZO #531058, it does have sequential turn signals. I can see if he still has it if you want, I'm about 35 minutes west of Danbury . I could meet you there if you want or I can go over to Colony Pizza in Milford, that's about 1.5 hours away, the pizza is worth the drive. Just let me know and I will ask him. This is the light...….

Wow that's really nice of you Jim and thanks for the offer. I think if I'm gonna get one I'd want the same one you got. I really like the look of it and how bright it is. Thanks for the offer though!!!

It's bright I haven't hooked it up yet....like everything else  Family comes first, I need 2 days to myself to do all my mods stored in the bed of my Tundra.:D Plus I'm waiting on the harness now, that was a great idea that @Storm had. I went with the Curt one though for 1/2 the price.

What is the Putco part number? I looked on Amazon and there are 3 kinds. Autoanything has one kind but just asks if you have the tow package or not.

Very nice looking tailgate led bar! I went with the 60” and 48” OPT7 leds. I’ve been very happy with them. Their 60” version has 1,200 leds on it! It has three rows of leds. Top row for signals, middle for reverse and bottom row for brake lights. I think the Putco looks great!

@Storm I think if you change all your brake/backup lights to LED then it would all sync up and light up in sync.

Edit - I"d suggest going with V-LED Vtriton. I"'ve had great experiences in the past with those. click here
