As you can see this allows you too easily access behind the seat when its lifted, this also provides enough room to build a 3/4 .5cubic ft sub box for an enclose 10 inch sub. The sub enclosure will be 22 inch high in the rear 7 inches across the bottom 16 inches wide. (Wedge design)

My adjustment brackets are built pictures below, now I just have to fit the leg bases onto the new base extensions shown below. Paint and re assemble

Hello everyone, So I hit a big hurdle last night and had to take a couple steps back to get things right. I will post the updates soon but my new plan will not involve any cutting or trimming of the OEM seat bases. It will however require some technical welding of bolt studs for the OEM brackets to mount too.

I see Amazon sells the same size food trays in black polycarb, another option. I'm planning on the big Diamondback bin for extra storage, thought about ESP but don't wanna spend $ on both, and I have those extended under-the-seat Husky mats too. Might do this hack. Great job OP!

Yeah when I did my ESP storage, that foam was no joke. I used a 4" serated hunting knife to get in there.

But man.. $22 great job OP. Well spent twenty bucks20170816_122210.jpg 20170816_122233.jpg

To you guys and gals who have done these mods, is there more interior truck noise after you do it? I mean you are removing a sizable amount of soundproofing.

I took the carpet and insulation and put it below the trays I haven’t noticed any noise difference.

If you put it below the trays, how is there room for the trays? They should be sticking up as though you never cut anything out then?

He is talking about the carpet and a thin padding under it, not the styrofoam.

The styrofoam doesnt really add any sound proofing qualities. The carpet padding does add a little bit so putting that back in below the storage bins would probably not be much different that stock as far as noise goes. I added closed cell foam and mass loaded vinyl on between the styrofoam and carpet, if I put bins in I would put the closed cell foam, carpet pad, and MLV under them.

Not talking about the foam just the carpet and underneath the carpet is a thin layer of insulation.

Love seeing this. I am a chicken with mods. I just got the 2018 Tundra last week and want to use space that I know can be there. Unfortunately, I also teach vehicle rescue and worry about changing the seats without anyone to stand behind it (or be willing to sit on them after). For the most part, I just want a 4" deep space under the seats that is the width of the row. Was looking for something like a metal single rifle case but haven't found the right one yet. Any thoughts?

I plan to put in a rifle case and a pistol safe once I get the guts to cut my new truck. I’ll let you know how it goes.

Madmatt I would appreciate that. I would like to figure something out for my AR pistol or my sbr. However, with two little boys I also have carseats sitting on the back row so folding isn't the easiest. Possible, but not easy.
