    Hello there!

New member here from NorCal. Got our Limited Crewmax last august and finally got the 2019 TRD Pro grill. Only thing missing is the garnish. I am on the waiting list for one. I couldn’t wait for the garnish and had to protect the sensor temporarily, so i bought a piece of 1/8” thick Dark Smoke Plexiglass to protect the sensor in the meantime. Not that difficult to install! Not as pretty as @ARES piece of art!

TAP Plastic here in the area. But i am assuming all plastic stores would have it. You can also go 3/16 or 1/4 thick. In fact, I think 3/16” thick would look a little better IMO.

Looks great, I’m waiting for my grille to arrive so I can finally make the swap. Are you still running the stock suspension? Any TSS issues so far with the new location of the sensor?

@ARES awesome new garnish! what are the 2 extra screws in the middle for? (does this hold the honeycomb to the lexan?) Cause the grill has only for holes 2 upper and 2 lower. BTW, you aren't thread jackn' what so ever. It gives us more options to pick from besides the OEM version.

@KnuckleHD no issues so far and yes stock TRD Off Road suspension. I would want to go level up front but only have 2" more til i hit the garage door!

    3mxdivr,

Looks good! I had a garage height clearance issue on my previous truck and had to remove the tilt-up garage door and replace with a roll-up door to get a few more inches.

Did you have any issues mounting your sensor from your 2018 into the 2019 TRD Pro grille? I wanted to do the same but did not know if the opening for the sensor on the 2019 grille was the same size.

I was also considering the Toyota garnish or the one from Ares.

Anyone know why the Tacoma TRD garnish is about 50 buck?

The opening is exactly the same. You can take the radar from the 2018 homeycomb and swap it to the 2019. But you will need plexi, lexan, some form of polycarbonate to resist impact.

@tundrarob no issues whatsoever. Same opening and mounting holes of the sensor.

3mxdivr - still running the plexiglass? Any issues yet? I ordered a grill assuming it might take a while to ship. Going to have to paint or change out the surround since I have a Limited. You'd think the Toyota garnish would come down in price since all the others I see on Ebay are around $50. Looks great.

@Heatonrx no issues whatsoever. Sometimes i don’t even realize it is just a piece of plexi when i look at the front end. Good luck!
