I may try the amsoil. I need it on my Jeep. I only drive it in the snow. It is already rusty.

Ive used corrosion x and or acf 50, but i have it readily available to me.

I wouldnt wash the under carriage with simple green unless you know for a fact that you are getting it 100% off when done.

Years ago the military stopped using regular simple green because it was found to be very corrosive to aircraft. Simple green then made an aviation specific version that works well for what it does.

Just sprayed my rig 2 weeks ago with fluid film, ended up using almost 3 cans. I was spraying that shit the way a stripper applies perfume.:D if only that stuff smelled as good.

I'll have to look into the Amsoil again. I prefer it over the CRC.

I'm going to apply Amsoil to my tundra in a few weeks, when I do my pre-winter wash and wax. Just picked up 6 cans of HDMP for about $9 ea.

My plan will be to powerwash underneath really well and let it dry a few days then get under there and spray away. I'll also do fenderwells, engine bay walls, the underside of my steps, rear bumper and hitch, all suspension components, and maybe inside the rockets and lower parts of doors. Will likely be done yearly in the fall. Possibly mid summer if I plan a beach trip.

Anything? No, avoid glass, your brakes, and your shock shafts. Other than that, it's pretty versatile as an undercoating. It dries as a lightly tacky wax-like coating and is difficult to remove without acetone and some elbow grease. Same goes for overspray on your skin, use Dawn and scrub it. That's why I say use some PPE.

I like krown better. In my mind the thinner Krown gets in more places then the snotty, smelly fluid film. Also doubles as generAl purpose lube.

I sprayed the Amsoil and wasn't careful about where I spayed except for the brakes and and some of the hoses that are easily avoided.

Why not the shock shafts? I was planning to use ff or maybe ams and would like to coat my coil overs an rear shocks as well. Curious..

FF works good for corrosion protection in general but just be sure to not get it in/on your heim joints or uniballs.

It's not clear, it's an orange color. Amsoil initially launched this product as a motorcylce chain lube. They've since redirected the marketing to an undercoating and now they have a different line for chain lube. I avoid areas that are meant to be clean and smooth, like shock shafts, heims, and unis. Those items are meant to be clean and smooth; the shocks have shaft wipers on them and a tacky film may hinder the wiper performance.
