I have the Toyota spray-in bedliner that came on my 2017. The front pair of fixed tie down hooks (on sides of bed, not on rails) are covered in bedliner, the rear pair were left painted body color for some reason. Now that I’ve had it a little over a year, the paint is really coming off the painted ones from being used with tie down straps. Not a huge deal but it’s ugly and I don’t want rust.

Is this normal or did Toyota just forget to spray my rear tie downs?

Has anyone found a good matching DIY bedliner material I could use to coat the rear tie downs?

    Thanks.

Most bed liner places remove these before spraying. You're good dont worry

Toyota only sprayed the front ones on mine too. The paint is also chipping. I plan on using the bedliner spray.

Thanks for the replies. It’s just weird to me they did one set and not the other. I’ll take them off and hit them with something sometime soon. A can of Rustoleum bed spray is $5 on Amazon. Not great reviews but this is for such a small part it’s probably ok.

    Flux capacitor!
My bed hooks were sprayed from the factory. If you want to spray the hooks. I would use this bed coating for the hooks.DCB0C7E6-F1D6-4489-B565-C7FF5E9343CE.jpg

Take them off and drop them at your nearest linex. Should be able to do for under 20 bucks. There is a guy at work here that takes his steel toes in to linex the toe to keep them from wearing through. Costs him $20.

Thanks. That’s good to know they’ll take small jobs. There’s one not far from me. This is my first truck so I keep learning things.

I’m glad they don’t spray them. It was easy to unscrew them when I installed my swing box.

That makes sense. Maybe people are more likely to remove the rear ones.

This is what I'ma do once I replace the front and rear bolts with D-rings. Then ima do everything at once. The white square rings on the sides looks really really stupid haha.

That is a really good question tho man it had me stumped.
