Ok guys I have an issue. I wasn't 100% happy with the way my tires sit with the fender flares on. So I went ahead and purchased 1.5" wheel adapters. Put them on and it looked sooooo much better. Drove it and hear rub rub rub .... Parked it and seen where it's rubbing. Here are some pix. What can I do about this? I really want to keep the spacers on.IMG_20180807_131029.jpg IMG_20180807_131035.jpg IMG_20180807_131140.jpgIm guessing some cutting? If so who in socal feels comfortable doing it?

I’ve read that sometimes an alignment can help. Also a body mount chop or some call it the cab mount chop. I think even one of our vendors sells a piece that you would bring to a welder to have him cut and weld the mount. Hard to tell in your pictures what I’m looking at but was it also rubbing on the skid plate? Some people will just trim the skid or bend it.

It is the back side of the tire upon Turning. It is definitely a mount.like right by the first bolt you see when looking under the truck closest to the cab

Body mount chop! Seems less common on the Tundras than when I was in the FJ forums. Nearly every truck over there had the BMC. On my FJ, I did it in the driveway and just painted the raw metal black. Even better if you can get a kit like these other guys are mentioning.

If you have a welder or access to one, angle grinder with cut off wheels (2) and a flap disc, black paint, 3 hours, you should be good to go.

Out of all the ones I have done, for the love of all things holy, get the @Relentless ones.

    You will thank me later.

I went to this guy for my alignment. I heard good things about them. He doesn’t have a lot of personality LOL but after rapping with him I got him to open up and he was really cool. The owner is cool but I think it’s his son-in-law that does the work. They do fab work as well.

Looks like a cab mount chop and believe SDHQ sells the metal pieces that are needed to be welded back on

I think there is quite a few off-road shops out there. Or fab shops

this is the rear of tire passenger side after cab mount chop. To show you the extra clearance.

if you are in Corona, go see the guys at Total Chaos or DMZ Fab in Norco.

Yup, you’re going to need to get the cab mount chopped. I had to do mine myself. I haven’t welded the steel patch on to the chopped area as yet, but the dealership told me that it won’t harm my truck if I leave the cut-out of the mount unwelded.

You might want to find a welder first. Some places won't use your plates and will make their own.

I have faith in you young lady!
