    So...

I found a deal on a RTT (ARB Simpson III RTT) so i bought it..
Now i need to figure out how to mount it to the bed.
I dont really want to spend an arm and a leg to mount it.

I've been looking around and came across something that might work for what i'm looking to do.

I really want something with a low profile ( above bed max 6"-7" ) that way with the RTT mounted it would still be lower than the cab.

i'm lookin at this as an option:

    https://www.amazon.com/Adjustable-L...07113SYDX/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8

I would need to modify the mount a bit but think it would be ideal and for the price, you just cant beat it..

    What are your thoughts?
Am I not going in the right direction?
I still want to be able to use my bed cover with this setup as well.

Anyone else find something that would work?

    Pics for attention

If you mount it to the bed rails you are asking that rail to support all that weight and doesn't seem like a good idea to me. Those screws are pretty small - something like a 6mm i believe. You really want something that sits over the bedside to spread that weight out and use the bed rail to secure it from coming off.

    Good call on the support.
What i plan on doing to modify the mounting brackets is get some solid steel bent to lay over the bed like an "L" bracket.

Not sure how handy you are but go buy some 1 1/14 square tubing and cut it up to what you want. Keep it super simple and hop on Craigslist and find a welder that would weld it up real quick. Might cost ya $100 and a little work. Or hit up @papasmurf he would be happy to help if you drove down to SD for the day. He is a super cool dude.

I'm pretty handy but don't have the required tools to do what you are suggesting..
Modifying the mounts is something i can definitely do with limited tools and equipment.
I might need to contact @papasmruf and see what he can do to help.

I do have an RTT also but I usually roll around with the cargo basket majority of the time.

That was the hard part. I waited 3 months because it was on back order. But I think they are in stock now so it might not be as long. I’d PM Relentless and see if they are available to ship now.
