Ok so I had a tire blow out due to this extreme heat in Texas. The tires were a little old so I decided to replace them. Ultimately I decided the difference for some new wheels and similar tires wasn’t much of a difference so I pulled the trigger and bought new wheels and tires. I am going to go with 285/65/r18 and the vision nemesis wheels. The current situation is everything on my truck is stock but I have the Bilstein 5100s sitting in my garage waiting to be installed. Can I go with the 295/70r18 until I install the Bilsteins 5100s. Maybe like a week or two until I install? Or will they just not fit? I have a 2014 4x4 crewman Sr5. Getting rid of the TSS wheels

I think 295's have been fit on a stock truck, but you are probably going to have significant rubbing with it. I would probably stick with the 285's.

Depends on the offset of your new wheels

You're gonna hate life for a week or two. It's going to rub like crazy. But it'll be worth it. :D You'll definitely have to remove the mudflaps and the front liner until the lift goes on and may rub the cab mount a little. Then you'll be able to put the liner back on with some trimming. But the mudflaps will have to stay off.

I’m wondering if it’s even worth going with the 295s. I guess I could wait it out until the tires wareout and just do it all then... decisions decisions. It’s sucks that all this happened as I am moving so I have parts in one city and parts in another. Fml

Definitely worth it IMO. If you can wait til you get your lift on, I definitely would.

Plenty of people run 295s with just removing the mudflaps and spacers or a less offset wheel than stock like you have. Just have a look around here and you'll find them ;)

No one runs 295's on stock (non Pro) suspension with a +18 offset. It's doable with +50 or +60.

I have 295/70/18s with +20 offset but with a 3/1 lift. I had to remove both front mud flaps and cut into the plastic cover on the corner bumper. I don't see how anyone could fit 295s on stock suspension but I'm no expert.

How does a lower offset hinder you? You're moving the wheel & tire away from the UCA/suspension?

The lower offset gets you away from the UCA, but that's what causes you to hit the cab mount and the front liner.

OP, your truck will still look good with the 5100's and the 285's.

Don’t know if the 295s will fit stock without having to address the inner fenderwell area a lot (mud flaps, fender liner, etc.), but I’m wondering if 285/70/18 tires might work as a compromise. Their diameter is in between that of the 295s and the 285/65/18s you’re also considering. My guess is that you’ll still have to address the fender well area. Also, not much selection in that size and prices are higher than the 295s. But thought I’d throw this out there as another option to consider.

Thank you all for your input. Since I have to make the executive decision now... I am going to go with the 285/65. I figured I’ll will give me roughly 1.5 -2 years before I have to buy new shoes for my truck. Everyone in here sure helped before I did something that might not work out. I’ll post pics as soon as they come in

Well... here it is. A little dirty, but we’ve been on the road quite a bit this week.

This tire shit is getting on my nerves, lol. These numbers r greek to me. We have a 14 tundra with mammoth which means 20" wheels and it came wth bfg AT 285/55/r20. We put a leveling kit on and now its time for tires. I want the k02's and I want a taller tire and just a tad wider tire, can i do 295/65r20? I dont know what offset means either so i need help.....

    Wheel offset:

    https://www.discounttiredirect.com/learn/offset-backspace

“5100” refers to the Bilstein shock model number. Bilstein offers 5100 series shocks for our trucks that come with the ability to set front ride height. “Top setting” means the ride height is set at the top setting along the shock body that allows for maximum lift. I don’t know how much lift is maximum for 5100s, but I’m sure someone on here will chime in on that.

Attached you will find the size difference. I am not sure if they will fit with only the top setting another website you might want to check out is 7746DE1D-927C-4D76-88C5-D9642DCDF855.jpg

Have you read through the wheel and tires thread? There are lots of pictures and information out there. I think that size might cause rubbing. Take a look at the 295/60/20, little bit shorter. The size you mentioned is jumping 2.5". How much of a lift did you put on with the leveling kit? @dawn2014tundra4x4crewmax
