What are our options? Does OME actually make a full pack for our Gen? I'm curious to know what people run and what are your opinions if if you have it. Looking to upgrade mine to make towing a 4500lb trailer a better experience as well as some better off-road performance.

OME Dakar rear leafs. Replaces OEM and gets you 2.5" lift.

I had ome on my Tacoma with Dakar rear leaf pack and loved it. I didn’t do much towing with it just light towing with a quad and an enclosed trail and some gear every once in a while, I’d say 5k max and it handled well enough for me. So I just ordered the same set up for my tundra. Again I don’t tow much so I’m not too worried about weight and sagging, I’m sure it’ll handle it fine when need be.

With that said I’ve seen a few post on the forum that don’t highly recommend Dakar for towing (https://www.tundras.com/threads/ome-dakar-leaf-springs-help.22095/) There are other options out there but better options usually mean more overtime so

I just now realized you have a 2006 1st Gen. Call David at Toytec. He may have a few options for you.

I'm running Alcan, they build to order. You can even go through wheelers to order them like I did.

When mine arrived the smallest 2 or 3 springs on one pack was on backwards. Called old Bob at Alcan and he sent me a new center pin so I could unbolt and correct the pack. Wasn't a big deal, no problems since and they've been on for maybe 6 years. The do run maybe 3 mm skinnier than stock at the eyelets, I ran a slim washer between the hangers and the bushing sleeve.

Maybe doesn't sound like a great experience but they've been good other than that

I will second Alcan, I put them on my 2004 and they were a tremendous improvement, I carry a lot of weight and tow a boat and unloaded they seem to accommodate our rocky trails well and smooth the ride out.

Most of that is not related to Gen 1.

As far as I am aware, Alcan can make anything you ask for in terms of how much weight do you want to carry vs how much lift do you need. Softness depends on the first part of that calculation, but mine are much softer than stock.

Deaver has a few pre determined packages which work well but can be overcome by weight. I have heard they will make custom packs when asked, but never tried it.

Don't know about any others, most 3 leaf add-on packs work as advertised to give lift but take away from weight capacity unless you retain the overload spring (I have seen some do this).

    Don't use blocks lol.

It is Deaver U512 (light medium) and also size specific because I asked them .5 -1" taller on the driver side.
I had Alcan HD pack (800 lbs) built on my Jeep before, they are well build as well.

    I can't recall, it's been about 6 years since I bought them.

Tried checking for the sale slip but couldn't find it. I wanna say just under 800 shipped, and I went with the black long life bushings. Didn't want to use red squeaky ones since there is no zero fitting.
