Ladder rack choices

I need a ladder rack for my Tundra; etrailer has the Rola rack that works with the rail system, but I have not seen much else online. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I got this rack and these bolts off Amazon. On the part that drops into the bed I welded on a piece of flat stock to extend it far enough to use the bed rail system. Just drilled a couple holes in the flat stock. I also wrapped the crossbar with some pipe insulation and tape( like people do with roll cages ). It works great and cost about 150 total. Goes on and comes off in a few minutes.

I was also considering this, for the useability of it. I would mount using J bolts and may use a hacksaw to "adjust" the rail system.

 

I liked the idea of the two crossbars being separate so when they’re not on the truck they store up against the wall pretty tight. I usually have a tonneau cover on. It mounts to the bed rail system as well. Everything comes on and off quickly.

 

@Bprose Do you have any pictures of the flat stock connections for us non-backyard engineer types? I have a buddy who can do it, but a picture is worth a thousand words.

 

I am really torn between these racks. Too be track mounted, or not to be...I will rarely remove mine once it is on the truck(the racks also make great hammock mounts) so reliability over ability to remove easily is more practical for my needs . I dont know whether to go for the better looks but less easy to use, or full on utility, but ugly since I do intend to work this truck to death. I have not installed the deck rail system yet either, so not in the way of the heavy duty rack yet.

 

No. But it was just a piece of 1/8” x 2” flat bar. If I remember when I get home I’ll try to get a pic. Maybe....it’s gonna be 117 today by the time I get home. Might not want to spend any time outside.

I imagine so. I’ve thought about it. I think the edge of the tonneau would hit. You’d have to get a little creative with the piece you attach.

 

Yea, I figured you would have to cut a notch out of the foam on the cover. I guess the trick would be if there was enough room on the bed rails for the post to still be on the rails, but not contact the cover.
