Just wondering what people think of the TRD package with the 4x4 models, I recently purchased at 2016 tundra 4x4 crew cab and I love this truck (no TRD? The TRD pack was a bit more expensive. I wanted to get peoples opinion or experiences on what they think is best for the money..

I think it depends on your needs.

If going to leave stock but want bigger gas tank and a little protection for rare off roading then it may be for you. If planning on deleting everything and adding better protection and the whole nine yards then maybe the TRD isn't worth it.
    Bucket seats or bench? Etc

That's why you should do research before buying and know your needs or future plans.

Welcome! Put TRD stickers on the bedsides, done (kidding).

If no rock crawling, start by adding a rear TRD or Hellwig sway bar, immediate and noticeable improvement in ride quality. What jNb said. Unless you particularly like those specific TRD parts, you can add better mods to your flavor, as you go and can afford them.

What he said. I decided it wasn’t worth it because I was swapping the suspension, etc...

I didn’t see the point since I planned on upgrading the suspension anyway.

I wasn't looking for the TRD package in particular but did like some of the extra features it added, especially the LED headlights & skids. It allowed me to get some of these features with out bumping up to a higher package.

I bought TRD and upgraded everything that it had that warranted the sticker. I would’ve done it completely different if I was to do it all over again

Yes it does. Go with the trd sway bar. It’s worth the money. I have it.

    Exactly,

Basically the yellow Bilstein 4600's! I'de just slap some 5100's all around or 6112's up front and 5160's rear! Then if you still want a TRD, slap the OEM TRD stickers on it and call it an upgraded TRD!

6112's front at top setting and 5160's rear, I debadged it being I dont like stickers or emblems, just like a clean look!

That’s what I did. Lifted it with CST 3.5 inch spindles and 5100’s plus wheels and Toyo At 2’s. Put a trd sticker on the bed and Boom.. TRD lol AEA52624-78F4-4832-A053-80A746134EFB.jpg

Wait. The new trd ORs don’t even have the crawl control? Wtf, Tundra TRDOR seems pretty hollow...

I wanted the package when I bought, but I really knew nothing about modding trucks when I purchased. Nothing left on my truck from the package besides the bedside decals.

In the same boat here. TRD package gets you nicer wheels, LED headlights, skid plates, and "trail-tuned" suspension.

I do like the TRD O/R wheels, but I don't think the upgraded alloy wheels are that bad either. LED headlights would be nice I suppose. The skid plates...I don't off-road really. I suppose they could be kind of good to have for certain scenarios though, just for added protection. I assume they made it easy to get to the oil drain plug through the skid plate?

Then there's the suspension; probably what I'm most concerned with. Is the TRD O/R suspension going to be a harsher ride on rough roads than the standard suspension? I want something that gives a nice ride and complements towing and hauling well.

I'm planning on some test drives tomorrow; I just hope I can get a good enough feel between the two that way.

The TRD package is $70 extra when you purchase a Limited. It was a no brainer for me for what you get.

I have owned 4 tundras over the years, including the TRD PRO, and I have never ever kept it stock. It will certainly depend on whether you are and will keep your truck stock. As well as, how you will be using your truck. To sum it up, NO!!! The TRD package is not really worth it.:spending:
