I am planning on adding a few things and wanted to tap into the fuse box both inside the cabin and outside (under hood) one as well. So here’s what I think I need in the pic below. I purchased it this morning and I didn’t have time to take the covers off to dbl check size and type of fuse. I did google it and it seems there’s a lot of different answers depending on year of truck and all. I have a 2016 Tundra Double Cab MGM. Will this work and if it will am I going to be able to get the lid / cover back on. Also I’m planning on adding the following items and any suggestions on products that would help or simplify the wiring and work long term would be great. Thanks !

Alpine Powered sub Pwe-S8 (if anyone has one of these in their double Cab please send me pics of locations and wiring options)

30” LED Bar - Lower Bumper

    Toyota Bed Light Kit

Rear backup lights or a combo brake light / reverse light Bar

    KC Highlights Cyclone Underhood Light.

Can’t remember which one you need in the cab but under the hood of mine required a “low profile mini add a circuit”.

I just "hardwired" a dash camand used this add-a-fuse, which looks like the same type as yours:

FAST Shipping ADD CIRCUIT BLADE STYLE APS ATT LOW PROFILE MINI FUSETAP FUSE TAP + 5AMP FUSE https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00I0MWPXU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_5AotBbGDSGTGV

You will not be able to put the cover back on the fuse box in the cab. Just make sure you put it in the correct direction. It will "work" both ways once you have the new fuse and original fuse in, but only one direction will actually protect the circuit on the new added accessory.

So if I want to add a fuse in the cabin fuse box, I won’t be able to reinstall the cover? That kinda sucks.
Someone told me that when I run a wire theubthe firewall that all I need to do is take a razor blade to the left of the nipple on the main blood on make a small incision and then I can feed the wires thru. Any tips or thoughts?

The cover missing is a huge deal breaker if it means protecting the electrical system and add on’s from shorting out stuff. I just wanted to make sure I purchased the correct stuff. The only downside I guess to not being able to keep the lid on is the “fuse map” printed on the cover. I assume I can always look online or the Owners Manual.

That’s a awesome tool. I’ve never seen one of those before. I want to make sure I do the best job possible cause I’m pretty OCD w stuff and having the right tools makes a huge difference in how stuff turns out.

Per the instructions on mine, the prong opposite the wire side should go in the "hot" side of the fuse socket. You can test which side is hot with a multimeter.

You can tape the cover back on if you really want to... It's out of reach and mine has been uncovered for almost 2 years.
