I did since then actually. A cheap $10 Husky set from HD. Adjustable driver with set of the usual assorted bits. The real deal. He was kind of surprised. Do they still make Erector Sets or is that too "dangerous" now...

Sounds like you have found a place you trust. If that’s the case, stick with it. You’re right, they can’t all be generalized. That’s an ignorant way to look at it. I just haven’t been able to get to the trust level you’re at with anyone I’ve used.

Sadly you are most likely correct. I had my GMonkey change my diff fluids a couple years ago. I provided the fluids and stood there. I still prefer doing my own lube. Toyota didn't make it easy on the tundra. Especially the zerk by the transfer case which I'd bet that most lube techs skip over...

I didn't have and Erector set. I do remember following my dad around and getting dirty like M does with you. I reckon if you got the Erector set that would be something to be supervised by Pappy.

The only way I’ve gotten in there is with the flexible hose. I normally give every one a few squeezes until I see old grease push out. I’ve never encountered a loose bolt. I throw the wrench on them but I don’t get anything so I’m guessing it’s rare that they come loose.

You Denver guys have trusted Toyota mechanics (on this very forum) that you can request service your truck; yes that includes oil changes too.

I bought a special adapter to get in there. Still sucked. I'm assuming the same guy that decided starter location was involved......with zerk locations.I checked most of the bolts the first time I lubed and all were freakin tight. I think it's more important when fairly new to make sure factory got them torqued properly. I know if I had just bought a new Tunny I'd be all over that.

Absolutely!!! I've had great experiences here when I need to go to the dealer. Some of the best I've had over the years. I'm surprised at all the negativity.

Early on I went to a Big O Tire for oil change on recommendation from coworker. Sucked. Won't go into it. Won't mention their name since it's on the internet....oh...wait....

Then you must not be going to the one off Arapahoe because if you were you would sound just like me. I would consider other dealers but I’m not driving an hour to get an oil change. By that time I’ve done it myself and have done it better.
Now, if there are true Mechanics on this forum that work out of the Arapahoe dealer and I can request them then I would love that info. Stevenson East and even Groove would be on my radar if there’s some one here I can go to.

And my guess is @T-Rex266 isn’t rolling his beast into a dealers quick lube...

I know we have a Jiffy Lube here in my town that has always done and excellent job. They are a locally owned franchise. My queen used to go there religiously and when I was out of town she would take the Tacoma there. No matter how hard I tried I couldn't find any faults. And when she would show up with Valvoline (always, because that's what I use) they would take $10 or $15 off because of the supplied oil. The price was usually around $45.

Probably a case by case scenario. Smaller towns present a dealership that must stay A+ or risk reputation failure.
Where I live, Toyota has a 250k population footprint. Other dealerships are about 20-35 miles away. People appear to be fighting to get an appointment. Wish it was different. When the wife retires and the youngest graduates, I’ll fix that issue.

Advancd Auto is having an oil sale this weekend. 5qt jugs of Mobil1 ‘Advanced Full Synthetic’ and Mobil1 Extended Performance filter for $35 combo deal. Bought 2 deals and will be changing my oil for the first time in 25 years. Just because I can.
