Hello everyone, new to the site. Looking for help. I currently bought a set of 2017 TRD Pro wheels for my 2018 Tundra SR5, replacing the steel rims. Can figure out which TPMS to use. 18 needs a 7 digit number, with a 40 degree angle, but the 2018 alluminum 0c091, are 20 degree. All the 2017 and older have an 8 digit id, so they do not work either...I'm stuck! The original steel ones 0c0101 broke off when tryin gnome to use cause they have a 20 degree angle.. any success story is greatly appreciated ..thanks Mike

These are the ones you need for a 2018 Tundra with aluminum wheels. Let me know if you are interested.

Thank you for the reply, the toyota dealer said the 091 are set at 20 degree and I need the 40 degree for the 2017 rims?

    Dealership is wrong.

    Alloy wheels use 20 degrees
    Steel wheels use 40 degrees

    regardless of the year.

I appreciate your input..this is so frustrating. The toyota dealership says 2017 and older used 40 degree tpms, such as 42607-0c080, 315 mhz , but in 2018 both steel.and alloys use 20 degree tpms, in which 42607-0c091 is 20 degree but also a 415 or 425 mhz and would only work on 2018 rims, meaning there is no tpms for a 2018 tundra if using rims that are not 2018.

I'm in the same boat as you. Bought 2014 1794 wheels for my 2018 with steel wheels. Turned my steel ones upside down and that worked for awhile, now I can't get the low tire light to turn off.

    Dealership is wrong.

Wheels whether 2017 or 2018 are the same, the only thing that changed is what you mentioned in your first post, that 2018+ use a 7 digit TPMS and frequency is different, 2017 and earlier use 8 digit TPMS.

Steel wheels 40 degree 2018 and earlier
Alloy wheels 20 degrees 2018 and earier

2018 Steel and Alloy wheels are the same as 2017 and older.

I went aluminum to aluminum and the stealership wanted 100 bones each lol. I had my installer pull the ones from my wheels I was taking off and put em in my new wheels.

Before I pull the trigger on some used rims I want to make sure the TPMS sensors on my current wheels will work on the new (used) wheels work. I have a 2018 Tundra crewmax Sport with stock 20" rims and I want to get the 18" factory rims. Will I need new TPMS sensors?

First image on the left are the 18" rims I want and the 2nd image are the 20" rims I have on my truck now.

Update, just wanted to let everyone know that the TPMS 42607-0c091 are the correct sensors to use on a 2018 Tundra in which you purchased Trd or Trd Pro 18 inch wheels from any other year. I had them programmed fine at the toyota dealer..thanks everyone..

You can get techstream on ebay and program them yourself. Its just a matter of registering the IDs.

You will just need to move your tpms sensors to the other wheels and thats it.

I disabled the TPMS with a resistor and diode in my 2010 crewmax. Was hoping to do the same in 2014 model, but plugs in passenger side kick panel look different. Anyone know which wires to do the same?

How much are these? I am in the same boat. I just bought used trd wheels off a ‘17 to replace my ‘18 steel ones. Dealership says I can use my existing TPMS from steel wheels on the ‘17 wheels??? Is this going to work or do I need to buy new sensors? I was hoping to swap wheels this week so need to know quick. Thanks

I just replaced my 18 steel wheels with TRD pro wheels. I used the same sensors. The guys at the tire shop said it was a tight fit and that they had to turn them some type of way. Didn't bother buying the right sensors. Had them on for almost a week without an issue.

I just bought some Fuel Throttle 20x9’s. I’m hoping the TPMS will work just fine after installation. Did you just reset the system after install or what? Thanks

Would those TPMS also need a "fitting kit", part # 04423-0C170, for installation onto a new 18" Toyota TRD wheel?

Edit: at post#3 on this thread,
    https://www.tundras.com/threads/tpms-sensor-help.27842/
Roman @ Toyota of Cool Springs previously confirmed that fitting kit is needed.
