I will report my retros are from http://kustom54lighting.com/ and the owner has been awesome. My longevity has only been 2 months but another member has been at least a year. I.l keep you posted if issues arise. I would not hesitate to recommend them.

And the shading is much more consistent than the photo. Just really like that I’m one of the few DRl in Amber.

Those look exactly like mine. I’m in Lexington and thought I had originals for the area! Haha. Guess yours are more original since u kept the full time Amber color. Like that ass kickin chicken on your profile pic! Go Gamecocks!

I got the Profile retros from LEO 6 months ago. Finish is good. Did not get the led shrouds. Light output is so good that I rarely use brights but they work fine. I did have a loose connection on drivers side LED DRL quick connect but easy fix. Only thing I noticed was lots of sealer. So much my neighbor started picking at it. I smacked his hand and said "quit". Extra sealer is not visible after install so does not bother me any more. Now you guys after me a little worried. Last thing I want is one of these headlights to quit working.

Ha ha. Wasn’t my plan but when they drove up after install...I said, I’m keeping it that way.

I wish I had ran into this thread before I did business with Leo, who pretty much ripped me off. I ordered the PNP harness from Leo for my '18 LED Headlights and the quality was not good at all. The connectors were coming off because they were not crimped correctly. The harness was too short which made it hard to reach the right headlight and was causing the connectors to come off. I told him what was happening and he asked me to send the harness back with the Motocontrol, so I did. He then sent me "New" modified harness WITHOUT the Motocontrol. He said I did not need it anymore because it was true a PNP harness. (WHICH I DID NOT ASK FOR) he didn't even askk me or tell me anything about it. I told him I would still like to have the Motocontrol back since I paid for it, he said he would send it back but I never received it and he ignored my numerous PM's and never responded again. The "New Modified" harness was trash as well. So I decided to stop contacting Leo and accept that I had been ripped off.

I then contacted @iHacker about his harness and it was the best decision ever. @iHacker has one of the best if not the best True PNP harnesses. His instructions were very thorough which made it a very easy install, and he is always there if you have any questions.

Everyone needs to stay away from that other guy. He should be banned so that he stops ripping people off.

Well at least you are only in for the harness cost. I'm $900+ in on headlights. I want to sell them but I'm also not sure since they are potentially going to have a problem. So i dunno.

Every time I see him post on the Facebook page Tundra Crew selling those harnesses, especially with the bullish!t claim that his is covered by Toyota warranty, I want to warn people about him. Maybe i’ll Just link to this thread

I've seen that too. No way in hell it's covered under warranty. The headlights themselves have a 1 year, but not that harness. But yeah, I want to say something as well.

Right...like if this guy was really trying his best to retrofit and make harnesses but he just sucks at it, ok, that’s one thing. To sell his harness as Toyota dealership warrantable is total BS and deceitful. This, to me, makes it clear that he’s dishonest and out to just screw people.

Damn near did that the other night. Thought better of it, just because I'm not big on that sort of thing (social media or calling people out if I can't do it in person). Fires me up though after seeing the workmanship with some of his harnesses and other things.

He has a slick reply for just about every situation, but the work speaks for itself. Just really unfortunate that he has affected so many people, the rest of the forum has been so awesome in my experience.

I drank the Kool-aid and I'm running one of his harnesses. So far no issues that I am aware of. The way I see it maybe he did have quality connectors, just poor assembly and people skills. If the latter fails then I'll have my Electronics Wiz of a Brother rebuild the harness for me. Still holding my breath that maybe I got Lucky.

I wouldn't worry too much. There is a good chance that you do have a decent product. Maybe quality control is just lacking and there are some unlucky people. All I will say is that if something ever does go wrong (which hopefully it never will), @iHacker has some of the best work i have ever seen. More than that, his support is 2nd to none. I was paranoid and asking all sorts of questions, he was right there with answers, help, and feedback.

Again, I would never wish bad luck, and I believe that if you haven't had issues you hopefully won't. Said builder does have years of experience and I want to believe he can make good stuff. Just some bad situations going around...

Where was this thread a year ago!! I have had issues with my Retro's as well. Passenger side leaking (took the light out and found a large whole on the inside black housing sealed it with some silicone and it still leaks from somewhere else) and now the light goes out when I hit a bump, so I have to turn my headlights off and on again and it comes back on so I suspect a loose connections somewhere. I can see the red and black wires through the side of the plastic. I already came to terms with forking out more cash for the 2018's and an iHacker harness. After reading all the other issues people have had with Leo's work I'll just eat the cost of those headlights, don't want to sell them for someone else to have issue after issue with them.

I was very close to buying a set or MLED retros from him and am so glad I did not. Would have been cheaper than the 18 LEDs but something just didnt feel right when taking about ordering from him. He was very quick to respond and talk up his lights and quality, when I had questions he was almost pushy about it. The thing that got me was all the shipping fees and core stipulations, and then the needing to pay for my own shipping for warranty work. Just as I decided to move on from buying retros, threads like this started to pop up, as well as issues with his harnesses. Its becoming too common and I hope no one else gets screwed over again

At 1 point it seemed he was reputable. He's still a vendor on here right?

I don't usually recommend other vendors to people, and let them make the decision themselves, but I have and will continue to recommend @iHacker for harnesses for the 2018 LED headlights. I receive numerous calls, emails, PMs, etc. and I always refer people his way, even if they aren't a member on the forum. I look for someone that offers a quality product, but more importantly, someone who offers top notch service. Awesome service is what sets apart businesses, especially online businesses, and reputation speaks for itself.

I'm rocking some retros from leo (second hand). So far so good, light output is great, and seem to be holding up against the elements (fingers crossed....knock on wood).

I have tried to get ahold of him a couple different times, to see if its possible to disable the led halo ring, and keep the strip at the bottom, but never heard anything back from him. I pm'd him and emailed him. Nada.

I was hoping I could do that with mine when the shroud on one side failed, since both led strips still worked. To my eye and rudimentary knowledge it appears they are on the same harness/wiring. Unplugging the connector disables both and there doesn't look to be any external separation that would allow that.

I'm pretty sure he has the shroud and strip connected together internally, as only 1 wire comes out the back for the harness. If you were able to open it up, you could probably disconnect the shroud and run with only the strip.

Yeah, 1 wire coming out of the back for the halo and strip. I wish he would have done them separately. I really like the lower strip, but so-so on the halo, just a bit much.

I was thinking about trying to drill a hole to see if i could access the wiring (hence why i wanted to get ahold of him) and see if i could put in a switch or something.

as with any custom work (whether it be a custom product, or even just basic installation of something)........it 100% comes down to who is doing it.

The headlights on the tundra were legit the worst on any vehicle i've owned minus my '55 suburban.....retros were a must do for me ('18's weren't available). I have had zero issues with my retro fits other than a ground wire disconnecting and i call that my installation error.

My passenger side stopped working today, projector and LEDs. This would be the 5th time sending it back. I give up. Where’s the thread for ordering 18’s?

Sorry to hear that man. It's bad enough you keep having to being down a light but it's gotta cost $50 shipping every time. Which to me should be covered by an decent businessman in the warranty
Light from @Roman ot even check your local dealer to see if they'll give you a good price.

Harness from @iHacker dont accept anything less by buying from anyone else. If you don't buy from him, make your own.

Thanks. Had found the thread and have been watching installation videos. Now to speak to the wife about it. It’s her DD so I think she’ll buy in.

No not yet, I haven't listed them yet. I need to though. I was thinking about $350/400. Headlights themselves are in good shape, projectors work great, it's just the led shroud that's out. So you can either fix them, have them fixed, or just not connect the leds. But still great lights.
