dealer cleaned them for free but didn’t help. Have this bad ass truck but sounds like an old clunker when I go over speedbumps or apply the brakes hard enough. You can bounce on the rear bumper and it sounds like a couple having sex in a squeaky bed....and yes, I checked under my tonneau and no one is the bed of my truck. :)

Anyone else have this problem? New OEM springs will cost around 2400 installed. Wow.

Damn $2400 for OEM springs. I paid just over $700 for custom Alcan springs. Did they pull the springs apart and grease them? Sound like they are extremely dry.
If you have the coin look into custom springs. Ride will be much better, and you can build what you want.

Do NOT grease leaf springs. Install new leaf spring isolators and make sure your leaf spring center bolt and u-bolts are torqued to spec.

They checked all the bolts. I gotta do something. I’m interested in leaf spring recommendations as well is the isolators. I don’t need anything beefy as maybe twice a year I’ll haul a 600# pallet of charcoal but other than that, nit much weight at all. Appreciate any input.

Maybe some dry lithium lube. I wouldn’t want to use grease as it will attract dirt but I don’t think you need to replace the leaf spring isolators this new. Douche them out real good with the hose let it dry then spray it with some dry lube. You may have to reapply when the squeak comes back but it should help for a while.

This is what the dealer did unfortunately.

Researching the Alcans now. I like what I have read so far. Might give them a call.

Sorry I was thinking dry lube not grease. Look into a new leaf pack if you decide to do something different. Guys at Alcan have been great to work with.

My front end squeaks. I thought it was the skid plate but no dice. I just like to pretend I have polyurethane bushings so I’m listening to the sound of performance LOL.

Not sure what the dealer did, but try washing them yourself. Gotta spray in between the leafs. Just doing that thoroughly will get rid of most of the squeak.

Maybe even jack the truck up by the frame so that the springs are at full droop. That way you can really get in there.

I have the same squeak, but it is coming from my coachbuilder shackles. Bounce on my hitch and sounds like people having sex in the back similar to the song Triville - Some cut (youtube it if you dont know haha). Got under there and could feel the vibration on my shackles when it squeaked. Worth a shot to check your shackles, might be them making the noise and not your leaf springs

Will check out the suggestions. According to my service manager, they separate the springs and clean in between them. There is a TSB on this. They did install my Toyotec adjustable shackle a few months ago. But they checked all the bolts and they think it is the springs. I’ll double check.

Yep....they checked the shackle so they are convinced it is coming from the springs.

take a can of WD 40 and start with the shackles till you figure out the point that is making the squeak. Then address that area.

do you know the TSB number? I could have sworn it was my shackles but maybe I was just feeling the vibration from the springs...

Alcan Springs coming. Increased load a bit, going with OEM bushings (Alcan recommendation) and will be here in 4 weeks. Thanks for the input. Looking forward to my last mod....yea right.

    Done that.

Hoping the new springs will not only enhance my ride and add some weight capacity but eliminate the squeak. Well worth the $$ in my books. I’ll report back in about 4 weeks.

Just curious, but what setting do you have the ToyTec shackles set at, middle or top? When I initially installed mine, I used the middle setting and it developed a squeak where they were rubbing a bolt coming down from the interior of the truck bed. I figured it out when I raised the shackles to the highest setting and the squeak went away.

No more squeaks. Alcan to the rescue. Woot! Woot!

Specs = stock height and 200# extra weight.

I also had a squeak but didn’t mind it. Incidentally, I installed 2” Pro Comp Add A Leaves with isolators and applied lithium grease to the OEM pack while I had the leaves apart.

    Not a peep since.

Was your more of a squeak or a creak? when I bounce on my hitch my truck squeaks but when I'm driving around and there is some flex in the rear suspension its more of a popping and creaking noise. Wondering if it's my shackles or the leaf springs...

Is a good idea to check your spare tire, I had the same clunky sound in my Tacoma it was new at that point and took the truck to dealership, they cleaned and lubricantes the leaft springs but the clunky sound re-appeared next day.

For some reason I checked my spare tire lowered completely and the put it back a bit tight and Like magic this eliminated the clunky sound

Thanks for the thought, I have checked and rechecked the spare. I'm running CB shackles so they are a bit bigger and I made sure the tire was not hitting/rubbing either and that it was seated properly under the truck. Did the dealership clean and lubricate the leaf pack for free?

Yeah they did that free under ToyotaCare, but that was for my Tacoma never had a similar issue in my Tundra
