Landscaping and home maintenance - decided this was the year we'd finally get to the outside of the house. Built some flower beds with 100+ year-old Thurber Bricks and then stair-stepped it down with some more antique Ferris Houston bricks. Spent yesterday crawling around the house with a caulk gun, sealing cracks. Tomorrow is priming and painting. SoHeiCijT7uBAS2hJphsbQ.jpg

I feel that pain. We had some touch up on the shed we painted this weekend, today was the lowest chance of rain this week so my wife hit those spots. Two hours later downpours. And still raining

Not really home improvement. But I fired the gardener and started mowing my own damn lawn. I do a better job anyways. Are used to have a small route when I was between 10 and 15 years old. Used to edge and mow people’s lawns for $10 LOL. These were small lots at least.

My current front and back lawns are very small. Bought a cheap mower, revived and old two-stroke 1998 Ryobi Weedwhacker and bought a blower attachment for it. More $$ for mods:yes:

Just a suggestion as I repair a lot of sprinklers at work. Keep the exact model of sprinkler heads on hand that you have throughout your irrigation system. If you whack A head that didn’t retract, many times you can just replace the top or “guts” of the sprinkler head. Leaving the body down below. Now if it broke something lower obviously you got to dig it up. Most of the time I just remove the top few inches of earth. I use a gopher shovel and make a small donut cut in the grass around the sprinkler head, and pull the whole chunk out as one piece. That way when I’m done I can put the grass back and you can hardly tell I even did anything.

I wish I could buy the same brand sprinkler head assembly and just replace the popup stem, but the brand is no longer made. I have taken a head I dug up to lowes and home depot and could not find one with the same internal parts to allow me to just switch the top part. The sprinkler system I have is about 20 years old.
