    Howdy

Here it is in all its stock glory. 2015 Tundra TRD Pro. Crazy to think this is how it used to look and that Toyota put those tires on from the factory.

    Some early mods:
295/70r18 Nitto Terra Grappler G2’s on the stock TRD Pro wheels.
    Bushwhacker fender flares
    1.25” Spidertrax wheel spacers
Coachbuilder 3+ rear shackles and 2 Coachbuilder shims each side in the front. This gave the truck a small lift (maybe an inch)

And that’s the way I let it sit for a while, while I saved up a new cash reserve, then.....

    Next up:

Camburg Trail Edition (CTE) front bumper
Smittybuilt X2O series 10K lb winch
35x12.50 Nitto Ridge Grapplers wrapped around Method Vex 311’s.
Needed some room to fit those tires, and ReadyLIFT makes a product for anyone with a TRD Pro. 2” SST Lift Kit – Toyota Tundra TRD Pro Plus 2”.
Replaced the Bushwhacker flares. I went with color matched Pro Comp Long Travel fender flares this time around.

    ARB On-board Air Compressor Install

Planning some wheelin tomorrow and likely some lazy river action so its finally time to get that air compressor installed to air up and down the tires as well as fill up the tubes.

Since this needed to happen quick (had ~3hrs this afternoon) and I haven't fabricated a mounting bracket yet, this is more of a temporary but still viable install. ARB suggests you mount this as near the battery as possible, so thats what I did. I chose to mount it directly to the fuse box lid.

I know it seems crazy and I would have loved to have a more permanent solution with a proper mounting bracket, but this turned out more stable than you might imagine, especially with the steel mounting bracket on the underside providing stability and strength.

Splicing into an "ignition on" source for the switch and light indicator.

And here it is installed and working.

So the compressor worked very well. I aired down to 15 psi and then aired back up to 40 psi in about 2 minutes.

The switch that ARB provided doesnt actually fit the Tundra, so I've ordered a switch and will get a pic of it soon, for now the switch is just taped in place.

    UPDATE POST:

Got a few things done to the truck in the interim:

    - Cobra 29LX CB Radio
    - ProCom 5.5' ft Quad Wrapped High Gain Antenna
    - Factor 55 Ultrahook
    - Factor 55 Hitchlink 2.5
    - Flip down license plate holder (Texas = Two Plate State)
    - Coming Soon: RCI Bedrack (ordered on discount, 4th of July special, 'Murica)

Finally got around to cutting off my original winch hook, I added a proper hook, the Ultrahook from Factor 55.

    Update Post

So I did some things....also life happened, working 80+ hrs a week, I haven't been on the forum for a while. When Im not working, Ive tried to do things here and there to the truck. I really want it to be ready to hit up Tundras to Sedona (need to get some work covered, maybe Ill just quit my job?). So here goes, Im sure I'll forget something.

So I got the RCI bedrack installed. I added some rotopax as well. I went with an affordable roof top tent in the Smittybuilt Overlander Tent, does the deed for now. When I get an off-road trailer maybe Ill upgrade it.

Dont ask what happened to the rear fender above, my wife doesnt want to talk about it, but shes still my DD (no she wasn't drunk, otherwise she wouldnt be a DD)

Added some lighting as well. This is the KC HiLiTES 276 FLEX 30" LED Light Bar Combo. The middle lights are spot, but the outer lights are flood lights (spread beam). Night pics with lights coming soon. In addition to the light bar, I added some A-Pillar KC HiLiTES 315 C-Series Amber 3" C3 LED. Went with amber on these, the amber light cuts through the dust where the white light doesn't.

    Happy wife....

Next up....so Entune is terrible, as you know. So I ditched it. I went with the Halo 9" from Alpine Electronics (also known as the iLX-F309TND). Android Auto and so much more...

What sold me on this set up you ask? Its what you can add to this unit. Ive got the External Accessory Control Module, which allows you to control 8 accessories via the touch screen interface. Also I added the Multi-View Front HDR Camera System along with the Multi Camera Selector Interface.

Here's the External Accessory Control Module in action. In the pic below you can see the buttons 1-8. 6-8 are just generic switch icons.

    1. Winch In
    2. Winch Out
    3. LED Light Bar
    4. Amber A-Pillar Cube LEDs
    5. ARB Air Locker
    6. ARB Air Compressor
    7. Will eventually be rear bumper floods
    8. currently not used

Heres the Multi-View Front HDR Camera System in the TOYOTA part of the grill.

This is great when wheel'n. The front facing camera has multiple views. Straight ahead, wide view (which is split), straight down view, and can seamlessly transition to the rear cam. Fucking awesome offroad. Heres the views...

    Straight ahead wide

    Split side views...

    Straight down view...

    And finally rear view...

Universal Front Seat Cover with Multi-Compartments Holder Pockets Molle Pouches, very similar to the MOLLE system used by the military. This holds a ton of handy stuff. Head lamp, flashlight, EZ tire deflator, Air hose to air up tires after airing down, ratchet straps, jumper cables, fixed blade knife, hatchet, machete, fire starter, signal flare, compass, ARB tire repair kit, and of course the Factor 55 fast fid because I run a synthetic rope.

    And last but not least

    UPDATE POST

    Finally got DECKED!

Getting ready for a Big Bend Bender. Going to Big Bend National Park May 4th - May 9th, if you're interested CLICK HERE for the trip thread.

    BOTTLE POP!

Mounted up the maxtrax and loaded up the full size spare.

The maxtrax took up too much room in the drawers, so I mounted them. Loaded up the passenger side drawer with recovery gear. Driver side drawer has the Smittybuilt tent anteroom and will have trip specific gear with food etc.

Man I love this folding tool kit. Stanley 210 piece

Going camping. Dry run in the garage first

With the tailgate up and locked, everything is secure.

    Battlestation

    Camping in Big Bend

    Lake Day

    Update:
    - Magnuson Supercharger
    - Nitro 4.88's regear
    - RKS functional scoop hood
    - Wilco Tiregate Vertical Mount
    - Transfer Flow 46 Gallon Midship Fuel Tank

    RK Sporthood.

    Got the Magnuson on...

Heres the Wico Tiregate. Much better.

I never did an update on the SS Built Rear Bumper install, but here it is.

Added some Tufskinz accents to the interior. Saw a guy on a different thread with these and liked them.

Just a pic of the tailgate install. Who needs organization when you have beer.

    Dropping the OEM tank

Here it is in all its pathetic'ness. I dont know how this POS made it on to our trucks

While my bro dropped the OEM tank, I prepared the Transfer Flow.

This is a two man job. It took the both of us, with the help of a floor jack to position and connect the Transfer Flow.

I put 20 gallons in to get home, and it didnt even reach half a tank. 20 gallons would have registered a full tank on the OEM.

    Dog and Nephew tax

Before and After. Ugly pipes are gone. Turndowns are on.

Installed the system from James Taylor Audio group buy. Sounds great. Nice upgrade. 12" sub adds just enough.

Went on a camping trip and caused some damage.

Heres where the damage occured. Had to cross that pipe unfortunately, or go two hours back, and not make it to the campsite.

    Close up

    Only one thing to do....

Cut that shit off = stupid good departure angle.

Here it is cut off, out cutting limbs on the ranch. Those OEM springs are going to be gone soon.

And last, but certainly not least, the Genesis Offroad Dual Battery kit

This was a tough install. Not nearly as easy as Shane makes it look in his install vid. You have to relocate the fuse box back, thats not even in the video. Very tight spaces to work in. Lots of swearing. But in the end Im really happy with a protected cranking battery. And I know it looks like a mess but it is organized a bit. I need to clean this up, but Im too lazy right now.

Knocked out a few things recently:

RCI full armor underneath and pumpkin protector

OEM Tow Mirrors, wired in power fold

    New camping setup

Here's the new camp setup. This is a RoofNest Falcon XL. Went with a hardshell finally and will never go back. Up and down in 30 sec, solo. I have a new Alu-Cab Shadow Awning as well but I havent got it mounted yet.

Got the powerfold tow mirrors on. OEM from Roman.

Here's the mock up to test it. Used the KTJO 4x4 harness.

    Testing 1...2...3...they work

    Update Post.

C4 Fab bumper on. Sorry Camburg Trail bumper, you have been great, but IMHO the C4 Fab Hybrid bumper is the best looking bumper for the Tundra.

Big rounds are Baja Designs LP9s. They can see into the future, so bright, so hot. From inside to outside are Squadron Pros in Amber, then the Squadron Pro SAE street legal fogs great for night highway driving, and the S2 Pro wide cornering lights in Amber. Warn Zeon 12S winch, Factor 55 ultrahook and fairlead.

    More pics

    So many wires...

Wired it all up to the sPOD with the tundra sunglasses holder switch panel

Drilled some holes for the LP9s

Painted it with this Wagner spray gun from Amazon

Got the bumper mounted and promptly went camping to test it all out.

Steak fried rice on the Tembo Tusk, just call me Marco

We wheeled it wheel hard this weekend. We went to an off road park and did some rock crawling and this shit was bound to happen.

No worries. The truck is getting a Kevlar coating in the future anyway.

Did you keep the coachbuilder shackles and shims when you installed the ready lift?

The shackles aren't going anywhere. But the shims (which are pretty cheap honestly) didn't play nice with the ReadyLIFT according to my brother, who happens to be a master mechanic (and I'll have to say he has really helped this build along), he didnt think the alignment would work out right with shims on top of the ReadyLIFT. So they are off currently, but I dont really miss them.

Welcome from ND! Great looking setup! I’m sure it allows for the right sort of fun that just allows you to think clear and breathe easy after a rough week.

Now you’re making me need paint matched pro comp fender flares. I really think they look great. And most def functional.

Welcome from eastern CO! Kind of surprised you went with a steel puck for an overlandinf vehicle, rather than aftermarket coilovers.

Looks great! Do you need to cut the stock well openings for those fenders? They make the wheel openings look huge!

What do your CV angles look like? If that's 4" over stock (non Pro) I would think they have to be at a pretty decent angle.

Yeah, I'm tracking what you're thinking. And I dont disagree. Like I was saying, the main idea for now was to fit the improved wheels and tires. The stock Bilstein's I dont expect to stay on for too much longer. I'll be upgrading to a long travel system soon enough.

It does require trimming of the stock well, so no going back. Even though the truck isnt lifted very much (relatively speaking) everyone seems to think it's a six inch lift or something bigger because the well openings are so deceiving.

I think the CV angle is great. My brother (the true mechanic) and I paid special attention to the steering rack and wouldn't do anything that would alter the tie rod angles.

Luv that color. Curious as to where you'll be mounting the air compressor?

Been asking myself the same question since I bought it. Saw someone post a custom mount, but they were asking $400 for this thin piece of sheet metal.

San Antonio, where all our sweet trucks have been made since 2015. Actually been over to the factory and took the tour, highly recommend it to all if you ever come through.

The N-Fab nerf bar / steps are strong enough to jack from?

no they aren't, I highly advise to not use as lifting point. as it isn't mounted on the frame.

This is a good point. Never got the weight of the truck fully off the ground, just messing around to get an interesting stance for a silly photo. To change a tire I pull out the pro eagle. To lift out a bogged tire I use the jack mate for the high lift straight on the wheel.

I didn't think it was strong enough. I was pretty surprised.

I have the same hi-lift add on. In addition to using it myself a few times, I used this set up to help a guy with a 370Z buried to the frame in sand. Lifted one wheel at a time, filled the holes and chucked sheets of plywood under to "make a road" back to the road he should have never left.
