I know there are so many posts out there about people asking about "what do you think about this tire size" and "will it fit". But I think I am on to something here. The normal 20" wheel that comes with a special edition truck is 275/55R20 (32"), with a TSS its a 285/55R20 (32.5"). There is a thread on here somewhere that says the max tire size for a 20" wheel is a 275/60R20 (33"). Below I just put on a a set of 275/60R20 and still have plenty of clearance without removing anything or trimming what so ever. I think I am going to try and put on a 275/65R20 (34") on a stock set up. I will at that time probably need to remove the front mud guards. But I think that may be it. It looks like I got enough room at the UCA, and If I remove the front mud guard. So here it goes.. "What do y'all think about that"

I have an SR5 with dealer upgraded wheel/ tire pkg; offset is +40. I will be adding Bil 6112/5160 w/ CB shackle... Also am curious as to biggest tire to fit on current wheels with no trimming. Thinking 305/55/20 but would prefer 295/60/20.

Im very interested in seeing how the new size fits. I hesitate to buy new rims ans they are pretty expansive but wanting the largest time I can get without a lot of modifications on stock 20 in. rims. Like your my current 2016 CM NO LIFT is 275.55.R20....when you mention the front mud flap, mine has two, one in the front of the tire (no big deal to lose it) and one toward the rear, which I hate to lose, my truck is a dark bronze and its gets dirty from road grime enough. I have also considered a shim to offset my stock rims a little, thoughts?

I installed BFG KO2's 275/65R20 last week. The only modification is to trim the front skid plate. But I havent done it yet. The tires will rub the skid plate at full lock.

I desperately want to get some AT KO2's in 275/65/20 to fit on my 2018.I did order some Bilstein 5100's last night. Can I use the middle setting which will give me approximately 1.5 inches of lift up front? I just want to level the truck and run this size tire.

Almost forgot , don't forget to get your lug nuts from Camburg, I ordered mine yesterday after reading about stock studs being to short. My so pointed it out awhile ago when we rotated tires , he said not many threads holding, then I saw where some of members had gotten some from Camburg, and they look to have alot more thread engagement.

this post really helped me decide what rims/tires combo to get. Ended up with Fuel 20 with +20 offset and Falken Wildpeaks AT3W 285/55/20. Wanted to do 275/60/20 for wider sidewall, but with a +20 offset and not stock +60, didnt want to chance rubbing skidplate, front mudflaps/rear. Still had close to 1inch from the UCA and ended up with only rubbing on the DS front rear mudflap when full lock w/steering wheel all the way left. Removed and shaved down mudflap that was rubbing and gone now. Ended up torqueing 110 lbs the rims and hardly any roadnoise on the Falkens. Now just waiting for the snow when and/if it does come.

I went with a 275/65/20 AT tire which is 34.1" tall. My Bilstein 5100's are set on the top groove which lifted the front by 2". With Spidertrax 1.25" wheel spacers I had a slight rub on the front mud guard which I removed. Stock wheels with the 1.25" spacers end up giving me an offset of +29.

How did you shave down the mud flaps? Any pics? I have +25 wheels and 275/60/20 Falken wild peaks and had to remove the little front mud flap. I still rub the front rear flap at full lock but don’t want to remove it.

Just ordered a set of 275/65 r20 Falken Wildpeak AT3W for a stock 2012 TRD limited. If DT (edited this reflect 4 wheel parts flailing on ordering tires. A week after I ordered them they still couldn't provide a delivery date. 4 phone calls later I managed to cancel the order. Discount Tire was able to order and have them in 4 days, along with providing me a delivery date on the spot. Only went with 4WP originally because they were offering free installation. Lesson learned, DT has always been awesome, should have just stuck with them and saved myself a couple hours of headache...) is slow on the order I may get my 3" OME kit and UCAs installed first, just waiting for some decent weather... Kind of want to install them stock just for information's sake, but don't really want to do the alignment twice (Got lucky on this, alignment was perfect, after install, only have to do it once after the lift)... :p Will post some before and after clearance photos and measurements.

Yes, please post pics with those 34" tires on a stock truck. Very interested. I'm thinking they should fit - barely.

Just installed the Falken WildPeak AT3W - 275/65 r20 on stock TRD Limited with factory platinum 20" rims (8J x 20 60 offset). Did notice that the Falkens, which are listed as 34.1", actually measured 33.75", so they where a bit smaller than anticipated, probably could have gone with their 34.5" tire if the measurements are shy that much. Rubs only at full lock on skid plate. No rub on the mud guards. Gained 1/2" height at the front and rear bumper. Clearance around tires was still at least 2". I'll post up a sketch of the clearance measurements when I get some time. Here are some pictures. Lots of room.

Not sure if there is a height difference. I just pulled center of axle measurements with the tires it had on it and then calculated the clearance using manufacturer specs. It is a tight fit, but I'm planning on adding a 3" lift and coachbuilders when it warms up, so I wasn't that concerned with it. You can probably have discount test fit a tire for you. They are usually pretty good about it if you are buying an out of spec tire, which that size is.

Well. I got a pleasant surprise today. After plenty of forum research I went to Discount Tire to try on Ko2s in 275/65r20 on my ‘21 TRD Sport OEM rims and suspension. Of course, the computer said no. Even the 275/60r20s were no.

Several staff huddled around and looked at my truck. They all agreed that the 60s would fit and the 65s would rub. I told them to try on the 65s anyway because I was prepared to remove the front mud flaps and bend the plastic skid plates forward a little per “the forum”, hehe.

20 minutes later several guys approached me grinning and said the 65s fit no problem. Weighted truck, full turns, no touch. Sold.

Thanks to those that have gone before me. Good info sharing. Appreciate it.

Wow, that's surprising but really good to know. So even at full steering lock in forward/reverse there is no rubbing? If not, I think I'll go with that size after all. I'll be going with a less aggressive AT though and my tire shop should have no issue at least doing a test fit.

Yeah. I was expecting a bit of struggle to get the 65s in there. No issues. TRD Sport suspension might sit slightly different than other trim packages. Could be a factor. Go for a trial fit at your shop and let us know.

Also....two weeks ago when I got my Tundra I was headed for “less aggressive” too. After I began really focusing on the options and what others have had success with, the Ko2s began seeming less and less aggressive to me. I’m really happy with this choice now and feel like it’s middle of the road. My wife, on the other hand, sees a lifted truck with huge mud tires. Haha.

I'm looking at going with this size on mine as well. I bought the Bilstein 5100s for the front and rear along with shackles. Planning on lifting it 2 inches all the way around. How is yours driving now, as far as power loss? I know those are a couple inches taller and several pounds heavier. Just curious if you can tell much difference in takeoff or day to day driving.
