2014 Platinum Offset/Backspace Help!

2014 Tundra Platinum w/Zone 3/2 Lift. I want to buy wheels and tires. I went to the store and they asked that i provide the backspace and offset from the lift manufacturer. Zone said i have 5 inch Backspace and didn't know the offset? I have been to 3 different places and they are not helping. They are basically saying find the wheel you want and we will order it for you. All of the online wheel sites are asking for the offset? Does anyone own a 2014 Platinum with fuel wheels or something comparable? Can you help me with the backspace and offset. Everytime i think i have it, someone tells me different. I am looking to put 285/60/20 Duratracs on a 20x 9 wheel. Thanks

 

I'm am guessing my offset is Zero. Am I correct?

 

Beside being 20" are platinum wheels different from the SR5 or pro wheels? I'm 99% sure the 18's are +60mm offset. I added spidertrax 1.25" to the pro wheels to get rid of the tucked look. I was told when I get around to new wheels I'll want to order around a +25-35mm to match the look. (Doing the math that puts me around +30mm now) I'm not great with keeping the wheel numbers straight but I believe the closer you get to zero and head into negative offset the further the wheel sticks out from the truck.
When I've been browsing wheels I check the bolt patterns in the size I like and see what offset is offered.

Yeah what you have now is a +60 offset. The offset range that will work best with minimal trimming would be +35 to +18 and the trimming or even body mount chop will depend on your tire size.

Will you run fender flares?

33s or 35s?

 

No Flares, 33 tires, dont want to trim. I have the stock tires and wheels on now and i've run into this road bump with the offset and backspace

 

As others have mentioned, our stocks are +60. You want between +18 and +35 offset on your new rims (depending how far you want them to stick out). These paired with 33's and there will be no rubbing/trimming/mods (you MAY have to remove the front mudflap).

+18 Will stick out about 3/4" - 1" from the fenders. The higher up you go the less they stick out, the lower you go the more they stick out. I wouldn't recommend lower than +18 though if you don't want to do any mods. I'm going with a +18 or a +25 whenever I order mine.

 

35 mm offset will give you less rubbing problems than 18 mm (assuming that the wheels are 9 inches wide). I have 18 mm offset wheels and 3.5 inch of OME lift. I have 34.5 inch tires and they are very very close to the body mount. I could not get any larger than my current tires without doing some serious cutting. I know some guys have successfully installed 35x12.5 tires on 35 mm offset wheels without out any modification only with Bilstein 5100 (less than 3 inch lift).

If you are not getting some fender flares, do not get 18 mm. To give you some idea, this is a picture that shows how much tires stick out (295/70/18).

Honestly I feel like a +20 sits just right, of course that's what I have though. But I went thru hundreds of pictures before I bought mine. If you do 33s that are 12.5 wide, your tires will stick out like my 12.5 wid in the bottom picture, but most likely with a 33, you won't have to worry about the body mount and probably won't have to trim, but it's possible the skid plate might need a trim.

The first picture has a width of 11.7 inches and had zero problems. Just so you can see the difference.

Not a great pic, but the only one I have that shows how far a 285 55 20 sticks out. Exactly flush with the body.

5 backspace, +20 offset....had to remove the baby front mud flap
