Alignment in spec but truck pulls to the right still

Hello all,
i recently had some 285/70/17 bfg ko2 and 17x8.5 method vex installed on my tundra. i took it to the alignment shop and they were able to get it perfectly aligned but for some reason the truck still pulls to the right.

The tech suggested something may be bent or that there is some steering wheel sensor recall for my truck. Can someone possibly shed some light as to why the truck still pulls to the right.
is it due top the stock upper control arm. i also have bilstein 5100s at the top setting

I just had a similar issue... Turns out it was my tire. The offending tire pulls to whatever side it's on. Worth rotating the fronts to the rear to check if no one else can provide alignment advice.

 

#'s look good. Try swapping left tire to right and right tire to left.

 

thats what i was going to try this weekend when i have some time. if it changes and pulls left what should i do at that point?

These were the tires you got a good deal on? Assuming no refund etc?

 

You can also check to see if one of the front wheel is dragging more than the other. Have both wheel up off the ground. Spin both wheel with your hands. Check and see if one side is spinning more freely than the other. If one side is dragging more, it could be your brake caliper sticking or something else.

 

yes these are the tires i got a good deal on and nope no refund no warranty

Rotate them one by one to the back to isolate the trouble maker... Then leave it back there

 

Had a similar issue for a couple of years...basically from the day it left the dealership. I spent much-o money on alignments and dealership visits. every time they would say its in spec. The dealer installed a 3/1 lift before I bought it, so just figured it may have been the lift... I even bought aftermarket upper control arms as recommended from a reputable alignment shop due to lack of adjustment in cam bolts. it continued same old story until just recently when I purchased new wheels and tires where they offered a free alignment check. of course they said the alignment was off, so I said fix it. Another $89 later and they fixed it. come to find out the dealership that installed the lift had re-installed the alignment cam bolts backwards, which didn't allow for proper adjustment. all is well now... straight and true... damn dealership... Thought about getting them to reimburse me for all those alignment expenses.

 

I'm currently trying to figure out the same issue myself. Tire rotation did not fix. Time to dig deeper.

T2S did, however, knock something to lessen the pull to the right. Maybe the solution is beat it up on a couple more Sedona trails

@Watt maker @joonbug so i should take it back to the alignment shop and have them add .5* to the passenger side caster angle?
Should i try rotating the tires at all first or just go straight to the alignment shop?

what makes the added .5* caster angle fix the pull to the right?

 

What about these numbers? Same issue, drifts to right, 35x12.50x20 tires, wheels 20x9 +20 6" lift stock UCA'S

 

Okay i'm gonna head back to the alignment shop this weekend and see if they can make this adjustment for me without charging me for a whole new alignment.

so the passenger side needs to be .3- on the caster angler correct
i just want to make sure that i tell them the correct thing

 

mine still slightly pull to the right even after new set of tires and alignment, same for my SUV and my car. I think it's the road at this point

 

Alright i will swap tires and sides and check tire pressure from side to side and see if i can pinpoint the issue and if not then i will head to the alignment shop and talk to them about my issues.

I'm on market for aftermarket UCAs would this help as well? Prefably SPC adjustable UCAs

How do these numbers look? Went this morning they swapped front two tires, air pressure was good
No more drift to right or tugging to left on steering wheel

Very well said! This should be stickied!!! You should make a thread with this info for everyone. Seems to be a typical issue with these trucks with bigger tires.

 

Figured I would throw this out there. After a recent off road trip, I knocked my steering rack off a little, not much, but enough the wheel was off. I zeroed the rack out, and tweaked my alignment a bit. I’ve spent some time messing with Tundra alignments, can let go of my wheel on the highway and nothing but straight, no uneven tire wear. My alignment cams are maxed, otherwise I would go -.1 to -.2 on camber(heavy truck/outside tire wear), and stuck with my caster #s, but the split needed is very close regardless of caster #. Additionally I do not recommend anything higher than a .5 caster split, less is usually fine. Toe is at .10 per side for .20 total, I don’t mess with toe, to difficult to get spot on.
