I run a 6 inch lift with 20x9 and 35 nitto's had to massage the front plastic piece that covers the back of the fog lights but no rubbing, trucks ride like a truck should, not to hard, not to soft it's just right

I am going to put on a leveling kit they recommend a 305/65. I am looking at getting a 275/70 which both are a 33 just one is only 11 wide instead of 12. what's the biggest tires anyone has put on with a leveling kit without cutting or rubbing

So, I recently joined the Tundra family, with the purchase of my 8th different Toyota vehicle that I have owned! I am the proud owner of a Black 2013 Toyota Tundra CrewMax Platinum! I have been doing enough research to make my eyes cross, and brain go numb planning out a series of modifications I want to make to this truck. I have looked through this thread and didn't find what I was specifically looking for. What I have established thus far is...
    - Suspension - 7" BDS suspension lift (with Icon reservoirs, and Icon UCA's)
    - Tires - 37x12.5R20 (or possibly 37x13.5R20) Cooper Discoverer STT Pro tires
    - Wheels (this is where it gets interesting) - Fuel Anza 20x9 with either a 1 offset, or 5 backspace (plus 1.25 Spydertech wheel spacer for a grand total of 6.25 backspace which is identified in the BDS lift info), or 20x9 KMC XD807 Strike wheels 18 offset with 5.71 backspace, and then adding the 1.25 wheel spacer to get up around 7 backspace.

Hoping someone might be able to share some insight into this. Thank you!

Everything's looking good, but I would try to go with an offset you don't have to use wheel spacers with. In my opinion, since your wheels and tires will stick out pretty far, the less stress you put on he axels the better. Spacers will put extra stress on the axels.

Your math is wrong. Adding wheel spacers reduces back spacing. 1.25" spacer on a wheel that has 5" back spacing effectively gives you 3.75" BS.

I had the same thought on the way to work this morning as well. It took a minute to click but I "think" I have this backspacing nonsense figured out. This math has been messing with my brain. What I have concluded is that a backspace of 6.25 is ideal for 37" wheels. A larger backspace measurement actually means that the tire will be coming in closer towards the vehicle, a smaller backspace measurement will push it away from the vehicle. Thanks for pointing out the spacer Jason, I would have missed that! THIS is why I am glad I am planning things well out in advance

Thank you! Also good points to take into consideration. Now I am waivering back and forth between 35's and 37's again...

Tons of great info in here. I thought I could just go get some wheels and tires, lift my truck and have no issues. I was hoping someone with some experience could help me out a little though. I just got my Toytec 3/1 in the mail. I want to run an 18" +18 wheel. Ultimately I want to run 295/70's. First question is, will this offset on the wheel interfere with the body mount for the 295. Or is that an issue mainly with 35's. Second if too many wheel well mods are necessary for the 295 does anyone run 275/70 with this same kit and do they appear more like stock and too small. Again thanks for all the great info and for keeping the thread going.

I run 295/70/18 (for now) with a +18mm offset on the Toytec BOSS 3/1 kit. I also have a CMC. No rubbing issues here

I just wanted to say this thread is awesome. I now know I will be going with 18x9 wheels with either a +12 or +18 offset and 35x12.50x18 BFG KO2 tires. I really like the Fuel Assault wheels but I can't get the offset I want to be flush with the fender flares. My biggest dilemma was what lift to go with. I was between the ToyTec 3/1 or the BDS 4.5. They are the same price if you get the new UCA's with the ToyTec so I think I have decided on the BDS lift. For all of you sharing your expertise on here thank you.

I have the Toytec Ultimate lift on for 2 years. No issues. Love it. Gives a good stance and rides well. The Boss are a bit better choice with custom valving for the Tundra. Don't have experience with BDS.

Stock suspension so far. 18x9 +25mm MB 352s with 275/70/18 BFG AT/KO2s. They rub up front when turning in reverse.

A heat gun will allow you bend front plastic piece in so it won't rub

Thanks, Island Woody. I have some 6112s on order. If an extra 2" of lift doesn't fix it, I'll use the heat gun trick.

Yea I was thinking you should just add the Bilstein 5100s

Yes, 5100s are another good option and set at around 2" of front lift should hopefully do the trick. I decided to go with 6112s, though.

How do you like the 6112, considering them over ultimate lift. Was was the max lift you got? Says 2.5" just curious. Thanks

I haven't received them yet, but I'll let you know once I install them. From what I understand, they're rated to provide 2.5" of lift at the top setting, but I plan to put it at the 2nd to top setting for about 2" of lift. Some folks have reported getting 2.75" of lift on the top setting, though. But I don't know if that's before or after they've settled or if maybe 2wd trucks, which are a bit lighter up front, achieve slightly higher ride height.

You have any plans for the rear, that's what she said, seriously thought about going with the 5160 's like they have on the pro's, but @a 100+ each I will just go with the 5100.

I also ordered the 5160s from AJUSA at $166 a piece and free shipping, but that was well over a week ago. I've since read on another forum that that vendor is backordered but that Amazon may have them in stock for about $171 a piece. I also got the aluminum billet mounts for the 5160s from autoplicity for $39 or so a piece ($10 shipping for both) after reading how the hose clamp style mounts broke on someone else's.

For now, I don't plan on lifting the rear. But if I ever do, I may just go with Coachbuilder shackles.

Have you considered the Toytec Boss over the Toytec Ultimate? I like my ultimate a lot but heard very good things about the Boss. Rode in Sean's and it does feel a little smoother.
