So the past couple of mornings when i start the darkknight up a small cloud of blueish smoke comes out both exhaust tips. Dealer believes it to be the seals. What do you guys/gals think? Going in thursday night so they can do a cold start on friday morning. This happens for about 15 to 30 seconds then the normal condensation smoke follows. Any help would be great.

Hmm, that does not sound good. Hopefully oil is not making its way down into the the cylinders and it is something else. I doubt it is worn out rings, it could be though if it was ran really hard all the time or with very little oil.

To be honest i dont beat on her just the normal highway speeds. No heavy towing or pulling. Had the bd more for the other features. 64,000 it better not be seals.

    It might be the seals.
Funny story is my truck has been slowly leaking oil out of the spark plug areas due to bad seals, not inside of the motor though, at the top of the spark plugs.

No issues yet, so I havent messed with it. 157k miles and counting.

Hopefully warranty covers it if there is an issue.

Does this happen every cold start?

It's been reported as normal. Mine does it on occasion. Been doing it for years.

I never have any oil level loss, so you may have a true issue.

I just started noticing it when i did the trd exhaust. At first i figured it was because it buring stuff off the internal of muffler. But after a month it still did it. As per @GNTundra i checked the oil and it was low a quart and some. No leakes, nothing on the ground so its burning it somewhere. And toyota better not come at me with its normal. My ss camaro didnt burn an ounce and i always tromped on her.

Here is the update, dealer called me today to tell me that they located oil in the intake which was caused by a failed pcv. They are telling me that it is not covered by warranty. So if you happen to see the blue smoke on start up check ur pcv.

Eh... I'm not convinced how a failed pcv could cause you to lose a quart of oil.... Yes... Oil in intake could be pcv related but the fact you've burned a quart says that there's a different problem.

Damn I remember when PCV valve cost a couple dollars and took you two minutes to install. I know these are just under the front of the intake manifold. I wonder how hard it is to do?

Toyota engineering comes through again. I was hoping it wouldn’t be some ridiculous task. At least it’s not a starter in the middle of an engine LOL.

Got the truck today. Had to fight with warranty but won the battle because the oil seperator which sits under the manifold is what caused the failed pcv valve.
