January 27, 2016 - TRON is now Live on the Grid.

I'm still in the process of getting this build thread together but it's long overdue and I'm excited to finally start it! 2016 started off pretty damn crazy but I came out on top with this 2016 Super White TRD Pro Tundra!

Within the first hundred miles I made sure to get the tint and bedliner done! Toyota promised me the truck would have a bedliner from the factory and sure enough, it arrived with nothing in the bed. With that said, I made them pay for my bedliner at a shop of my choice and time since they dropped the ball. Inyati Bedliners in Gilbert, AZ came highly recommended by my friends at SDHQ Offroad who also trust them for their own builds. They did a superb job taking all the little bolts and removable parts out before spraying then reinstalled everything.

Immediately after the bedliner was finished I drove over to the tint shop and got my 15% all the way around over the stock privacy glass, with a 5% strip on the windshield! It came out nice and dark, but not too dark for night driving

Pic for comparison before and after
    [IMG]

Made sure it fit in the garage! ...With inches to spare
    [IMG]

    First big purchase, Methods!

186 miles on the truck and I made the next big purchase on some DirtyFIVES! 35/12.50R18 Toyo Open Country R/Ts on stock TRD Pro Suspension!

Last look at stock, but I got excited when I saw the droop, not bad at all ;)

Initial fit compared to stock in the rear, and when I started getting giddy
    [IMG]

Right after install I had to find a spot to show off...AZ Sunset made that pretty easy :D

?? I think the matching white strips on the rims look bad ass. And they match both the Tron and Stormtrooper look.

Updated the second post, but continuing on with the build and adventure. Believe it or not, it took me 25 years to finally go to Vegas!

While I was there I met up with the Battle Born Toyotas group, and got to meet some long time members of TacomaWorld along with some more Toyota Enthusiasts which is always a good time!

I'm not that well versed on wheel brands (clearly), what's wrong with rockstars?

Its all personal preference really, but those wheels tend to be associated with any or all of the following: drop brackets, mall crawlers, pretty boy, or rich mommy and daddy clubs... Ive just never been a fan but that's just my .02

...forgot the big one.....dallas cowboy fans....haha

I dont like the rockstars simply because everyone had them at one point. I like being different then everyone else so I put fuel wheels on my first tundra right when they came out. Pretty soon everyone in my area had fuel wheels and now I hate them as much as rockstars. Hoping my area doesnt catch on to the method hype because I really want the mesh or the roost on my new tundra. Gonna piss me off if I get them and in 3 months everyone is rocking the same wheels as me again. Hoping the little shits keep buying fuel wheels so I can be different for a while. Only methods I have seen in my area were both also on tundras and they were both running the standards or double standards.

    Awesome looking truck btw!

Knowing it would take alittle while to get my new shocks built (stay tuned :spy: ), I went ahead and bought the Coachbuilder +3 Shackles, which includes billet carrier bearing drop spacers, and the new bushings for the stock leaf packs to fit in the new shackles. I also got some strut shims or spacers for the front from David @Coachbuilder1 (2 for each side) to lift it about an inch. I was really impressed with the quality and size of the new shackles, very well built and it brought the truck together nicely with the 35s!

Nice Packaging (not pictured are the strut shims)

Before and after with the strut shims. Nice setup for sure...but sucks they aren't adjustable coilovers...(and as the almighty @jberry813 would say..."Stock Sucks!")

Billet CB Drop, so far no vibes after driving 1000 miles

Before measurements included the TRD Pro Suspension and 35" Toyo RTs with roughly half a tank of gas. After measurements include the Coachbuilder +3 Shackles (1.75"), and 2 (0.5") shims each side in front with alittle more than a quarter tank of gas.

    Metric shit ton of parts
That is a true coilover. Everything about it is. And your truck has UCAs, so it's definitely not a strut.

    Looks great though.

A bittersweet moment after I lifted Tron, I drove over to my old spot where I would always take poser pics of Rinzler, my Tacoma, after I did something new to it.... Regardless I love this truck more and more everyday and I totally understand that feeling a couple other Tundra owners have mentioned, "I still can't believe it's mine!" With that said, I couldn't decide which ones I liked most so here's all of them...lol

My bad then, I just didn't know how to refer to the type it is since the coil doesn't have a top hat, and cant be adjusted
