Had them color match painted for two more bills. Now my stock tires look tiny. I will probly go with a 3 to 1 level kit from Toytech and get some Black Rhino 18” wheels. Everyone talks about 25 offset is the magic number for our trucks. With fender flares is there another magic number to push them out to the edge of flares? As always. Thanks for all help. Peace. Good CL score.

+25 is a good place to start. The closer to 0, the more the wheel is pushed out and the greater the chance of rubbing. A good source of picts is https://www.customwheeloffset.com/wheel-offset-gallery. You can search by offset and tire size and see picts of how far the tire sticks out. This is mine with a +25 wheel and 295's.

Maybe @chphilo can help you too. Seems like he has those pocket flares with a +18mm and I think they are pretty close to being flush. What size tires are you wanting to run?

I have 18 mm offset wheels with 295s. My tires are just about flush with pocket style fender flares. With 18 mm offset wheels, 295/70/18 is just about the max size you could go with without cutting up your truck.

Mine is 18x9. My tires are very close to the body mount, but they do not rub. I know that when mounted, tires do look smaller, but you could see Trail Grappler 295/70/18 next to stock 275/65/18.

One last question please. Did you lift your truck by any chance? Thank you again.

That tire comparison looks ridiculous. Lol

Thanks. Wheels are 18x9 with a +25 offset and the tires are GY Duratrac 295/65R18. The front is lifted 2" (5100's on the middle setting with 1 coachbuilder shim on each side) and the rear is stock height. I had to remove the front mud flap and push the front liner in about an inch and there is no rubbing even at full lock.

+25 offset will still keep you pretty close to under the wheel well. With flares I'd go with -20-+12 offset. But mine is a third gen, not sure on second gen. I posted some pics of my new set up that's slightly aggressive with no flair's.

Thanks for the detailed reply. I was PMing MistrRoboto and he advised front bilstein 6112 set at 1.9" to level with stock rear. Sounds almost in line with what you have. I actually love the stock height but wanted to do everything correctly with more aggressive tires and fender flares. Thank you for the invaluable information.

    Cheers to you!

6112's on the 3rd setting (1.9) will get you level and is a great setup.

Another good place to see Picts of different wheel/tire/offset combinations is https://www.customwheeloffset.com/wheel-offset-gallery?page=1

You can search for Tundras with different wheel size, tire size, and offset.

I had to remove mud flaps for fender flares. I hate being one of those guys without flaps. I always think I am flinging rock chips at people? Any mods to put something at least on the rears? Thanks. D

+20 offset is perfect for those in my opinion without fender flares.

My 295's +20 before adding my Bushwackers ...

current set up on 295's with 1.25" spacers = -6 offset and Bushwackers ...

unfortunately going this route means you will need to do some minor tweaking of the liner and a CMC for peace of mind.

Anyone have flaps with their Bushwackers? I had Bushwackers on my Tacoma but without flaps, the rear ones got all pitted on the front from stuff being thrown back from the front. I’d like Bushwackers on my CM but only if I figure a way to have some kind of mud flap too.

joshua is correct. bw flares require removal. i have my old mud flaps and was wondering if there was a way to mod them to have them installed with flares. havent looked into it yet ... it may look dinky. i dont know. im gonna try to play with it today ... im sure there probably is a thread somewhere on this but with the number of members and all the pics of bw flares without mud flaps, i suspect this has already been tried and tested.

I have OME 614 lift with AAL in the rear. The front is lifted 3 & 1/2 inches and the rear is lifted 1 & 1/2. But I don't think you need that much lift to fit 295/70/18 tires.
