Wiring Harness for the 2018+ LED Headlights conversion on 2014-2020 models.

    NO HOLDS.

I CAN PROVIDE INSTRUCTIONS FOR PAYMENT ONLY IF YOU ARE READY TO PLACE YOUR ORDER AND HARNESS WILL BE SHIPPED ON A FIRST COME FIRST SERVE BASIS TO KEEP ALL ORDERS FLOWING IN A TIMELY MANNER AND AVOID DELAYS.

    Disclaimer

Please you have to understand if you are doing this modification is completely at your own risk and I have no liability for any damage you could cause to your truck if you don’t follow the directions correctly for this installation. No issues reported but this warning is just in case.

If you are interested in a harness please PMe to confirm availability, this will take a while to produce due to lots of soldering required specially for truck with Amber DRL but I do my best to ship in 1-2 day after payment most of the time.

Installation for the 2014-2017 1794/Platinum/2018-2021 SR/SR5 models 100% Plug N Play, for TRD PRO/SR5/Limited Models a few connections under dash and Amber DRL delete MOD are required to power LED DRLs and have them working with factory DRL system but nothing too complicated to worry about. NO WIRE CUTTING IS REQUIRED zero permanent damage to factory wiring is done so this is totally reversible to factory halogen headlights just in case you sell or trade in your truck.

    Warranty

All my harnesses come with a 1 Year warranty replacement for any issue as a result of manufacturing or any malfunction, If a issue is detected please contact me as soon as possible I can help to do some quick troubleshooting at first, and if necessary, I can send a replacement.

    ATTN:
Payments methods accepted Venmo, PayPal, Zelle or CashApp Friends and Family type of payments only for all platforms.

All my harness sets are made using Toyota Genuine connectors, seals, cavity plugs and terminals, I prefer to never use generic parts to ensure quality. My first choice is Toyota connectors but if they become unavailable or back ordered I will use the cross compatible part form Japanese OEM manufacturer Yazaki which is the connectors supplier for the 2018-19 Toyota lineup. I use 16 gauge TXL automotive wire 100% made in USA not cheap wire from China.

Check the available options depending on the type of headlights your truck came out equipped from factory:

2014-2017 1794/Platinum/2018-2021 SR/SR5 (Trucks with single LED DRL and halogen headlights) $100 +shipping

If your truck came out from factory equipped with halogen headlights and single LED DRL strip you definitely need this option. Check picture below

    1BD3A839-1F30-4B55-A52C-D50C0A4D0913.jpg

This option is 100% PNP including turn signals no pins rewire required.

    IMG_0724.jpg

The Turn Signal Adapters are intended to make your turn signals plug and play and avoid hyper flashing due to differences in the 7444 bulb used in this new headlights so you don’t have to move or cut a single wire as other harnesses from TRS or HR are required to do.

If your truck came out from factory equipped with Amber DRL SR5/LIMITED/PRO) I can make two harness variants you can choose one between the two that is better for your wiring skills.

    92EE8064-CAC8-4035-90F5-640956CAAEC2.jpg

2014-17 TRD PRO/SR5/LIMITED with factory LED DRL dimming $130 +shipping

This Harness have full factory functionality (this is how 2018+ trucks normally work), the LED DRL is controlled by ECU, And also have a LED DRL auto dimming function, when headlight is turned ON LED DRL brightness is reduced to 60% to avoid blind or distract oncoming traffic at night, this option requires a bit of extra work (run a wire through firewall grommet and a simple wiring job under dash) but the end result is totally worth. By far this is the most popular option. Price for this option is $130 +shipping

    IMG_0718.jpg

2014-17 TRD PRO/SR5/LIMITED Non-Dimming LED DRLs (Bright mode all the time) $110 +shipping

Non-Dimming Harness (Bright DRL All The Time), This option is 100% Plug n Play no wires to splice or mess with, no firewall wire or any sort of wiring under dash besides the Amber DRL Delete (optional) but the LED DRL turns ON/OFF with ignition and stay at full brightness all the time (not like factory functionality which dims the LED DRL). To power the LED DRL in this option we go to use a fuse tap to replace the 10A IGN fuse in the hood fuses box. Price for this option is $110 +shipping.

This option is highly recommended if wiring projects are not your thing (better safe than sorry) or if you definitely need a quick PNP solution.

    INSTALLATION GUIDES

STEPS 1-4 Required For All Models

    Step 1:

Set your headlights leveling system to 0, and then mark your headlights hot spots against a wall with your truck at at least 25FT from the wall in a level surface. This will help you to aim your headlights correctly at a later point.

    IMG_0647.jpg

Warning: Before preceding to next step battery must be disconnected prior installation, remove negative terminal and cover it with a rag to keep it safe.

    Step 2:

    Remove Grill and Headlights

    https://youtu.be/gSeb4T7WP5M

    Step 3:

With your headlights removed proceed to install your main harness

    Main harness.jpg

For security I recommend you to zip tie the Headlights Plugs

    IMG_0652.jpg

Make sure to plug back all the remaining connectors (Auto leveling system and Side corner makers are Plug N play and nothing involving my harness)

    Headlight assy connectors view.jpg

    Step 4:

For Platinum/1794/18SR5 and DRL Bright All the time harness only:

To use the turn signal adapters follow the instructions in next picture

    Turn Signals.jpg

This complete the installation for Platinum/1794 and the new 2018 SR5 with LED strip from factory.

ATTN: Follow next steps only for trucks with Amber DRL to install the LED DRL wiring.

Bright mode all the time harness only (Fuse tap to IGN Fuse)

    TRD PRO/SR5/LIMITED

The LED DRL harness have 2 sides (longer side with single wire is for passenger side, fuse tap side must be used in driver side) one for driver and the other for passenger side and a wire lead with a fuse tap containing one 10A and 7.5A fuses.

Start installing the driver side harness and then to route the passenger side harness you can locate and follow the stock wiring harness in the radiator area (front of the radiator) and zip tie to it to secure it or you can also use this other option as I did mine:

    PASS SIDE1.jpg

    Zip1.jpg

    pass3.jpg

    PASS CENTER.jpg

    PAA END.jpg

Now you have both ends in the respective place ready to plug to the designated connector.

For turn signal adapters use the same instructions mentioned before

    Turn Signals.jpg

Now we need to use the end of the harness containing a fuse tap to power the LED DRL. This option is completely Plug N Play and after plugin DRL connector on each side (Driver and Passenger) all you have to do is open the fuses box and replace the 10A IGN fuse with the fuse tap in the LED DRL harness.

    IMG_0148.jpg

    10A FUSE REMOVAL.jpg

    FUSE TAP2.jpg

    FUSE TAP SLOT.jpg

After this steps try to find a secure way to close the Fuses box lid cover over the wire without damaging the wire or cover

    FUSE TAP COVER.jpg

Please make sure the lid cover make a good seal to avoid water intrusion and that finalize your installation.

    Harness with dimming only

    TRD PRO/SR5/LIMITED LED DRL WIRING

The LED DRL harness have 2 sides one for driver and the other for passenger side respectively

Driver side harness have 3 wires and turn signal adapter

    3F575EC3-0C3F-4287-A94B-9B868448CAF2.jpg

Passenger side only have 2 wires and the turn signal adapter

    977F725B-6ACC-44F5-858B-0835D4834B57.jpg

Start installing the driver side harness and then to route the passenger side harness you can locate and follow the stock wiring harness in the radiator area (front of the radiator) and zip tie to it to secure it or you can also use this other option as I did mine:

    PASS SIDE1.jpg

    Zip1.jpg

    pass3.jpg

    PASS CENTER.jpg

    PAA END.jpg

Now you have both ends in the respective place ready to plug to the designated connector.

For turn signal adapters use the same instructions mentioned before

    Turn Signals.jpg

Now we have a wire lead in the driver side LED DRL harness and this have to be routed into cab through the firewall grommet.

    NOTE:

Please keep the wire lead with metal terminal only until you finally have the wire in the other side of firewall grommet, only after this you can insert the metal terminal into the connector until you feel or hear it clicking that means is inserted correctly and locked in place, give a gentle tug to make sure wire is secured.

    IMG_0892.jpg

Complete this only if the wire is in the other side of firewall

    IMG_0893.jpg

Zip tie to secure the harness to stock wiring alongside fender wall to reach firewall grommet.

    IMG_0337.jpg

Insert wire into the nipple and gently pull the wire from the inside of cab

    IMG_0757.jpg

Secure wire and use tape on nipple and complete stock harness to keep it safe and weatherproof.

To continue with DRL Delete Mod and Relay installation watch the following pictures and videos

    DRL Relay Installation

    LED DRL Relay .jpg

    IMG_1406.jpg

    IMG_0917.jpg

This is the process you have to follow for the relay connections under dash.

Gray wire (AKA Amber DRL Delete Mod)

ATTN: Before starting this step if you are planing to keep your amber DRL alongside with the new LED DRL do not depin/cut gray wire, you only need to splice the black wire from my relay to gray wire using either a positap or regular t-tap (RED) as shown in next picture.

    IMG_0430.jpg

Highly recommended to buy a special terminal extractor tool but if not available a thumbtack can be used for this

The following video show all this steps in action, video could be a bit outdated using older parts but still helpful.

    Installation Video

    https://youtu.be/6BG2MIlR8is

Once you have done all this steps, connect your negative battery terminal, check for correct functionality and only if everything works now is time to put everything back in place you are all set, and it is time to enjoy your new headlights.

    One more thing...

Some users noticed their headlights arrived aimed incorrectly, compare your new headlights heigh with the marks we placed in the wall in step 1, keep your leveling system in 0 and do the required adjustments,

Each headlight have a channel reaching the leveling system motor gears, and you can rotate the gears as needed UP/DOWN just turning gears with a long Phillips screw driver.

    AIM.jpg

If for any reason you forgot to mark your stock headlights heigh follow this video to correctly AIM your headlights from scratch.

I hope this guide help you out.

Thank you for your support guys.

I think I have 3 sets left, I shipped 13 already over the week.

To produce this new harness is slow and tedious but I guess I can complete about 15-20 sets weekly

Great. I wish I knew it two weeks ago so I would go this route without motocontrol.

Sorry, I wasn’t sure if that was the way I want to go by that time, but I received too many email asking for this, this isn’t so easy to produce for me but I’m glad it will make everything truly plug n play for the end user.

    See fine print
You have the best looking harness by far! No competition. If I had to buy a harness I would so buy from you!

So for anyone on the fence, do it!

So what changed that allowed motocontrol to be eliminated?

I thought that box was the LED driver, but I guess the lights have an internal driver?

So basically the only OEM harness difference from 2018 sr5 to 2018 limited & up is the connectors?

    Nice work ihacker!

To order use the “Start a conversation” option under my user name to send me a Private message, I’m not a business and don’t have a website for the harness. This is only for Tundras.com members

Just used this new harness to upgrade to the 2018 headlights. It was crazy easy and ihacker makes an oem quality harness(maybe even better than oem ).

Well, I bought both, so I guess they will have one in stock pretty soon after I'm done returning mine.

And there's a reason I didn't install them on my car first as that is what I received first, and didn't feel adequate. The connectors felt like connectors bought from dollar store if they would carry such products. Total shit.

There is no comparison when iHacker uses OEM connectors.

    nice work @iHacker.
I have the old version and can attest to the quality product he puts out. If I didn't already have a motocontrol i'd be all over this.

In 2018 trucks with LED Headlights from factory the LED strip brightness is reduced to about 60% and this is a safety feature to be gentle with oncoming traffic, with LED strip at full brightness and headlights ON at night you gonna be out there blinding oncoming traffic, So the dimming function is activated when you use your headlights, this is hard to notice with a camera but I’ll try to upload a video I have in my phone

So does a 2018 SR5 dim the LED strip when the Halogen light comes on from the factory?

Just received my harness today. Quick shipping and a quality harness with any and all empty connector holes plugged with the proper cavity plug to prevent water intrusion.

Looking forward to getting these installed sans Motocontrol.

    Excellent customer service from ihacker.
